I have been working at Care UK full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Care UK is a forward thinking company that keeps up to date with the latest standards and research. They are hugely centred on residents and their wellbeing. Care UK is a fun, exciting company and not purely focused on care but the whole approach. They are very innovative and creative, and all colleagues have the ability to progress in their career. They also celebrate colleagues wonderfully with the GEMS programme...

    Cons

No company is perfect and there is always room for improvement. There are a few Cons to think of; new ideas that colleagues want to introduce in homes can be held up by red tape when it comes to senior management. Wages could be more in line with the cost of living rising. Senior management can also be rather disconnected with those who work on the 'shop floor' as it where.

    Advice to Management

Look at wages. Try and foster a more bottom up approach as opposed to a top down approach. Streamline wages for colleagues in the same role with the same skills. Advertise wages like other providers.

  7. "Awful place to work, don’t expect any managerial support."

      Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Care UK full-time for more than a year

      Pros

I work in a care home, the residents are the best part of the job. Being able to help and support them makes the job easier.

      Cons

If you have any problems from bullying in the workplace ( which is ripe) to things not running right ,you would expect to be able to go to your direct supervisor NO , it gets you nowhere, same with home manager. Your basically on your own . So you have to have a big mouth and take no prisoners attitude or you won’t last.

      Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, staff are leaving by the dozen and when you get replacement they don’t last longer than a month. Deal with bullying .

I worked at Care UK full-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

Appears to have good standards of care outside of the facility I worked at. Have employee perks scheme with numerous benefits.

      Cons

Given a start date at a custodial facility, however when arrived not expected. Not given any induction details or pack. Training consisted of sitting with staff in staff room or clinical room. No actual training. Line manager cancelling shifts of staff members and not informing them. Line manager changing shifts without telling people. Being asked to manually move a bed bound patient without any patient movement...
