I have been working at Carnegie Mellon University full-time

    Pros

Good people, great facilities, intensive research attitude, Pittsburgh is very cheap to live in. The high quality of students, from undergraduate to graduates, and the funding.

    Cons

Not really a con, but a feature - very competitive and hard to get into (for any position, from postdoc to PhD to professorships). Would like to see better food facilities and better parking facilities around campus (right now there are some parking lots but they are really expensive - around $10 a day!).

I have been working at Carnegie Mellon University part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good hourly pay (does depend on which lab you work at though), flexible when it comes to how many hours you work, overall very nice people.

    Cons

Wish they would give more opportunities to work with professors directly.
