Pros

Catch22 is somewhere you can really grow if you're up for working hard and getting stuck in. I moved roles three times over seven years and was always encouraged to stretch myself. Hard work is recognised. Things like the staff awards aren’t just for show. There’s a real commitment to learning and development. I completed an apprenticeship and external leadership development course while I was there and had access to mentoring, internal networks and other opportunities to learn and share. Inclusive networks (LGBTQ+, EDI and more) also help create a sense of community. Flexible and family-friendly working is taken seriously. There are also some helpful benefits such as a car scheme and 24/7 GP helpline which I made use of.

Cons

Salaries are fair for the sector, but they’re not the highest. Most years there were cost of living increases and occasional one-off payments, which helped. That said, if pay is your top priority, Catch22 might not be the best fit. It’s a place that really values purpose and impact, and that tends to suit people who are motivated by more than just salary.

Pros

A company that puts people first, and has a good team ethic and morale. Senior positions very open to discourse from other roles. Extensive training and development program opportunities in the company, for instance team leading, programming etc, to more soft skills such as de escalation, accommodating to protected characteristics

Cons

due to nature of the company being a social enterprise and relying on funding on contracts this poses limitations on scope of salary growth opportunities.
