A lot of the people that work there are nice and willing to help and the company gives good benefits

      Cons

Long hours and a lot of work with a shortage of staff. I feel like there is a lot of staff turnover because it's a very physical and stressful job

      Pros

Overall, it’s a great company with fantastic overall benefits. These have been hard to match anywhere else. 401k with immediate vesting. 17 days PTO with potential roll over. 1 week sick time. 2 flexible holidays. 1 volunteer day. You're experience here will vary depending on which department you choose to join. Think carefully about what would fulfill your needs as an employee. Toxicology is a very team oriented environment, fast-paced and filled with a hard working crew. Attention to detail is also important here. Mistakes are critical. Technicians fair pay, starting with a base pay ~$19/hr. Be prepared for long hours standing. BIPU is also a team oriented department, but hours are not set in stone and dependent on workload. Long days and weekends may be necessary. Salary is estimated between $35,000 – 54,000. Pathology services has a range of roles to fill, most being sedentary: • Some roles involve a keen eye for detail and organization with a large focus of your day spent filing and working on a computer. Salary is ~$15-17/hourly. • Most other roles in pathology involve production based functions, with long hours spent sitting performing repetitive motion based functions. This work is hard on the body, with a variety of initiatives taken by management to counter the toll on hands and body. Salary varies from $17-24/hourly. If you’re willing to stay the long haul, you will do well. • Managerial roles vary in function as responsibility is shared between the manager team. Salary ranges from $52,000- $65,000 yearly. • Upper management and scientist roles salary range from $70,000-80,000 yearly.

      Cons

Management communication; can be a competitive field; may work long hours and overtime; some jobs overly sedentary; jobs functions are repetitive day-to-day without much variation in duties.

      Pros

Start work day when you want to provided it’s a reasonable time. Work from home opportunities. Great benefits. Nice people to work with for the most part.

      Cons

Say they have a great work life balance but will ask you to work on off days and overtime with no incentives if salaried. Not many people of color in managerial or high profile positions. Great company for women that are not of color to be leaders. Work long hours with interrupted training with nothing extra in pay. Short staffed with freezes in some departments. Not many older or over 40 workers. Not many people of color in leadership roles.

Good starting job but not much room to grow.

      17 Sep 2019 - Animal Technician II

      Pros

Good 401 k, dental and medical insurance are good. Potential for lots of over time and the people. Fridays are mostly early days.

      Cons

Work long hours Monday-Thursday. Hours are 4:30 am early in certain areas. A lot of pressure to get work done faster and decrease overtime. There is not much room to grow within the company.
