Pros
Worked on my own time from home
Cons
Had an unsuccessful program for logging hours
Pros
The smaller student to teacher ratio really helps with personal growth of students and leads to better opportunities with finding on campus jobs and other outside opportunities.
Cons
Has the limitations of a small University
Pros
The work load was light, and it had great work-life balance.
Cons
The work became mundane, and people don't know how to do their job.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Chatham University full-time
Pros
The benefits package was decent.
Cons
The most disorganized workplace you will ever know. Corners are cut in every which way, unethical actions take place weekly, and politicking is everything.

I have been working at Chatham University part-time for more than a year

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Chatham University full-time for more than a year
Pros
The campuses are mostly gorgeous. IT’s small structure means that project visibility to management is more likely. If you’re dedicated and add value, it gets noticed. Benefits were pretty good.
Cons
Absolutely terrible communication between divisions of IT. At the time of leaving, no SLAs or meaningful documented procedure. Blame culture is heavy. Frequent moving of goalposts.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Chatham University full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
Truly wonderful people who care about the students. Staff are constantly working well beyond the forty hour work week to make sure each person is heard and valued and supported.
Cons
The leadership is truly horrific. People are constantly crying at the desks out of frustration and fear. The rumors that spread throughout campus between departments is disgraceful. HR is fully aware and refuses to do anything. You will be promises mentorship and receive nothing short of manipulation and abuse. There is no room for growth here, only distress.

Cons

"Downward pressure bloats job and leads to burn-out"
I have been working at Chatham University full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Beautiful campus; great location in Pittsburgh; excellent medical and retirement (matching) benefits; (mostly) great people to work with
Cons
High pressure work culture and no opportunity to advance for support staff positions. There is tremendous pressure from president's and VPAA offices on Deans and PDs/Chairs to produce scholarship, teach, do outreach, perform innumerable administrative tasks, staff Admissions events, etc. Chairs off-load what they can resulting in support staff performing higher-level functions than what they are compensated for. It's great for skill development, but there is no mechanism for promoting, providing bonuses or stipends for the work that falls way outside job descriptions.
