I have been working at Chessington World Of Adventures full-time

    Pros

A fun, unique place to work with amazing animals and great staff.

    Cons

No major cons, salaries could be higher, especially as it’s located so close to London and local living costs are high.

I worked at Chessington World Of Adventures full-time for more than a year

    Pros

none, not worth it at all

    Cons

Staff in management are completely fake, unfair and sit on their backsides eating all day while they boss the others around. Your progress is assessed on the type of person you are and whether they like you but not assessed on how well you do the job. Staff will accuse you for wrong doings. Don't pay enough for the amount of work they expect you to do. Guests are constantly complaining because of the staff...

I worked at Chessington World Of Adventures for more than a year

    Pros

    - As a seasonal employee, you will get free passes to all Merlin attractions in the world. - Very flexible hours. - Team events outside of work are great for socialisation.

    Cons

    - Pay is significantly lower than what you should be getting for the amount of work you do. - You will not get paid properly, and management will refuse to help you. - Management are not accommodating and will discriminate against your mental health needs. - A complete disregard for health and safety laws, staff welfare and health. - Customers can be physically abusive without consequence.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your staff say, and actually go about making a change as many people are unhappy. Treat them as humans.

    Negative Outlook
    No Opinion of CEO

I worked at Chessington World Of Adventures part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - flexible working hours - make great friends - perks are good (free tickets, sometimes free food) - incentives across park are pretty cool

    Cons

    - progress to higher positions will be based upon if the management like you and not based on if you're actually good at your job - lots of 15/16 year old kids who aren't trained properly (managements fault, not the kids!) - you're expected to dedicate your life to Merlin Entertainments, they don't care about you. - its a good starter job, but once you're over 18 the hours get tiring and you feel very stagnant.

    Advice to Management

-better pay -focus on the experience you're offering to guests, not saving money.

  10. "Overall ok summer job"

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Chessington World Of Adventures part-time

      Pros

Free tickets to merlin attractions after 6 weeks

      Cons

Poor management when it comes to training Takes a long time to progress to work on the till and newcomers are always sent to clean out bins and restaurant tables only. Hours are not confirmed during the day and managers dismiss you whenever they want so especially when you pay to travel into work its not worth the travel fare as they dismiss you.
