      Pros

Good compensation for intern. I also was a fan of the 9/80 work schedules

      Cons

Politics rules all. If you are liked by the management team, that is the only way to move up.

      Pros

Great Benefits & Pay - 401k - pension - bonus - education reimbursement - 9/80 schedule Company is in growth mode - new plants built and being built in near future.

      Cons

Inclusive Culture has eroded over past three years. Politics are rampant throughout company. - Positions not given based on merit. - Growth/advancement is based on how well your boss likes you, not necessarily merit. - Non chemical or mechanical engineers have difficulty advancing. Assets have doubled since company inception while headcount has declined. Difficult to be proactive with current staffing levels throughout organization.

      Okay place to work

      Pros

9/80, several locations, good safety culture

      Cons

Limited career opportunities; Entry level management positions really only available for the favored few who will also often move up quickly, and whose careers are actively managed by mid/upper management. Health plans structured such that high deductible plan is cheapest option, but has fairly high deductibles (9k in network, separate 12k? out of network, and they don't cross apply). Instituted yearly charge for having spouse on medical if they could get it through their employer. Overtime expected for many, and compensation for salaried employees for the extra hours works out to a fraction of their normal hourly-equivalent rate. Depending on the site, tend to run fairly understaffed.

      IT Audit (terrible experience)

      Pros

9/80 schedule, location in the Woodlands

      Cons

Management is clueless. Extreme politics and favoritism is displayed openly. IT Audit leadership was terrible and corrupt until leadership fell apart and were forced to make changes. I have worked at other companies and the stuff that goes on here is just insane. Hostile work environment, auditors were being forced to do things they didn’t believe in. Management doesn’t believe in their iCare program (inclusion and diversity program). I literally felt at one point I didn’t know what to do with so much unethical violations happening in the workplace without fearing for my job.

      Lean and Mean

      Pros

Salary, benefit, 9/80, nice office in the Woodlands

      Cons

No training. You are hired a month after the previous person leaves. You receive no training, no guidance, no documentation. You are just expected to know what to do form day 1. As a result, the company is a mess, because nobody knows what they are doing. The company calls itself "lean and mean". So, on top of people not knowing what to do, there are also not enough of them. "Lean" also means there is no opportunity for advancement. "Mean" means that your concerns will be ignored, any criticism will be used against you. You will be expected to work overtime, with no training, and be happy about it.
