    Pros

    Amazing dynamic young people - I met some of my oldest friends here :)
    Beautiful art and design & the opportunity to view and learn about rare/unique pieces
    Surrounded by intelligent experts in the field
    Great for learning how to multi-task and how to deal with very difficult customers

    Cons

    Slow career trajectory
    Incorrect hiring practice - hiring based on birth, gender, age / hiring PHD candidates for entry level roles with no job growth
    Old Boys Club mentality in certain departments
    Focus on hierarchy and "not my job" mentality stunts growth for employees and business alike
    Awful technology to support internal processes despite spending billions of dollars on new systems a few years ago
    Difficult to implement change in process anywhere un the company
    Poor management training meaning that new managers struggle and often decrease efficiency
    Very low salaries

    Advice to Management

    Provide better training and focus more on management structure. Invest in your team and grow with them to ensure they are kept motivated. Invest monetarily and offer salaries competitive to role rather than market. Consider investing in in-house Engineering team to keep internal systems up to date.

    Pros

    If you have high energy, passion for art and are a self starter, then this is a great place to work. During viewings you get to see beautiful art and the specialists give great talks about the art to employees which build knowledge more widely. If you have the right attitude and commitment then I do think you can progress where ever you want but you must 'own your career' , you won't be spoon fed. Very sociable environment.

    Cons

    A few managers have very poor behaviours but I do believe the new CEO will not tolerate this and if employees call it out he will listen.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to listen to employees who call out the poor behaviour of the few managers who do not live the company values. You know who they are. Because of this I have marked the culture and values lower.

    Pros

    Great reputation and image

    Cons

    Senior management have all worked for Christie's or another auction house for their entire careers

    Little by way of innovation or dynamism

    Processes and attitudes are outdated and do not reflect modern working conditions.

    Little reward for good work: bad work often tolerated.

    Very little staff entertainment and very few staff events.

    People who work here are passionate about what they do.
    The art is amazing - there is so much to see and get excited about.
    The work is interesting and varied.

    Cons

    There has been a lot of change at Christie's which can make it hard to get things done.
    Supporting functions are not always seen as as important as our Specialist Departments.

    Advice to Management

    Create better understanding between enabling functions and art departments.

    Good place to work, IT manager was very friendly and supportive, lots of work to do and learn.

    Cons

    IT department got out sourced and didn't see any opportunities for career growth.
