    I worked at Christie's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Dynamic company with good employee support and advancement opportunities. You work hard but it's also hugely rewarding with a great sense of company belonging. Staff tend to stay a long time.

    Cons

    Long hours, low pay and highly competitive for roles

    Advice to Management

    Continue to invest in staff and their development. Fexibility is key for many staff when available.

    I worked at Christie's full-time

    Pros

    Amazing art work comes in, some very rare and historical pieces;
    Dedicated, passionate people, both in the art departments and support functions;
    New leadership is proving transformational;
    Caring colleagues;
    Some really good innovation;
    good benefits package.

    Cons

    Seems like a few employees get a lot of attention from senior management, and possibly quite a lot of the money;
    management does not seem to say no enough, and initiatives/taskforces get started that sometimes distract from more important objectives;
    Some pockets of good line managers, but otherwise a pretty low level of maturity in leadership and management;
    Not the most diverse workplace I have been in, but management was trying to improve that aspect;
    Trying to work from home/be flexible does not come naturally to managers in that company;
    At times did not feel supported by my manager, quite the opposite.

    Advice to Management

    Keep listening to employees, improve management skills across the firm, push for flexible working more

    I worked at Christie's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Prestigious company, with a majority of very knowledgeable and kind employees. You can learn a great deal about the art industry.

    Cons

    Corporately quite risk averse and often very political, especially in high revenue departments. Core corporate incentives are not necessarily beneficial to all employees. Furthermore, due to their prestige, they can afford to pay low salaries.

    I worked at Christie's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    I worked at CSK over 20 years and learnt the most of all my jobs about customer service, proper administrations, CRM, etc and of course Art. I had amazing colleagues with lots of passion and eccentricities. Most very caring as was the management back then. It changed to the usual uncaring financially focused company as most are these days. Way too many managers that don't know how to manage people. Too many people with advanced degrees that are clueless.

    Cons

    If you need the money you won't get it. If you have money you will get a good salary.
    Long hours. Low pay (as in most art jobs). No much in the way of CPD.

    Advice to Management

    Don't just hire people with advanced degrees (and no experience).
    Pay people especially admin a living wage. Work Life Balance!
