I worked at Chubb full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No reasons to work at this place. If you like a completely silent workplace then this is the place for you!

    Cons

    Not allowed to talk
    Very dated systems
Not allowed to make any changes or suggest them
Don't believe what is said at interview as most likely it will be completely different!
If they don't like you they are very sneaky and just get you out!
Certain people are protected and can do no wrong, iv had the worst possible experience working here!

    Advice to Management

Very very senior management need to see what the senior managers are doing and how they are treating their staff. As good hard working people who want to make changes for the better are getting chased out of the door and then getting kicked out.

    I worked at Chubb full-time

    Pros

Free lunch occasionally & nice workspace.

    Cons

Overburdened middle-management, out of touch leadership and a cliquey culture that is germane to the mid 1970's at best. Also the most nepotism I've ever witnessed in a workplace.

I have been working at Chubb full-time

    Pros

Some top notch people and skills.

    Cons

Lack of respect for the culture and people that made Chubb successful. There are some good people and good organizations, but they're being pushed out. As Evan Greenburg stated, this is "ACE in Chubb clothing".

    Advice to Management

ACE bought Chubb, in part, for their reputation in the marketplace and for the outstanding customer service and claims processing. Destroying the culture behind them just doesn't seem smart.

    no opportunity for growth
legitimately haven't learned anything in my time there
the connections I've made with employees are mediocre

I worked at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits and retirement offers are decent

    Cons

Employees are not trusted and have to account for every minute of every day. Employees spend more time counting items instead of processing. Went from a company that valued it's UW's to a company that lets the new processors (Phoenix based) act like they know better than the group that brings work into the offices

    Advice to Management

Stop moving work from one office to another where it is working just to have to bring it back to be cleaned up a few months later. Self training does NOT work. Stop allowing employees that are just learning a job change the way it is done to where it is not legal and acting like the UW's are not the ones that are bringing in the work

    Pros

Large company... people get paid a lot to do nothing

    Cons

The merger still has many grumpy and bitter and it is not a fun environment. Business units compete with one another.

I worked at Chubb full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice new offices, locations are good and easy to get to. The locations have lots of access to shops and food.

    Cons

Micromanagers that are extremely strict. Poor/ one way communication between managers and employees. Strongly encouraged to work overtime and weekends with no extra pay or rewards.

Sick and annual leave is culturally frowned upon. Coffee breaks and eating at your desk strongly disencouraged. Many privacy breaches, careless with procedures, poor and inconsistent training and no standardisation.

You are very much alone there, collaboration and discussions with team members frowned upon. Everyone is out for themselves. Numbers focused with little care for quality.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your team leaders and get knew ones, start afresh. Be more flexible and consistent.
