    Pros

Very good pension but apart from that, it is apart from that nothing.

    Cons

    No prospect of promotion ...

    Advice to Management

I worked at Chubb full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No reasons to work at this place. If you like a completely silent workplace then this is the place for you!

    Cons

    Not allowed to talk
    Very dated systems
Not allowed to make any changes or suggest them
Don't believe what is said at interview as most likely it will be completely different!
If they don't like you they are very sneaky and just get you out!
Certain people are protected and can do no wrong, iv had the worst possible experience working here!

    Advice to Management

Very very senior management need to see what the senior managers are doing and how they are treating their staff. As good hard working people who want to make changes for the better are getting chased out of the door and then getting kicked out.

I worked at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Culture was supportive and pay was above fair market prior to merger with Ace. Looked forward to going to work and felt valued.

    Cons

Workload is unrealistic. No real long term strategy. More like a factory than an insurance company. No time is given to optimizing process. A lot of unnecessary manual work. Too busy to focus anything other than immediate workload. Can’t see this company thriving in the long term.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the last century. Show that you value good employees and recognize that people have lives outside of the office. Look forward and come up with strategic goals that are clear and that employees feel like they are working towards rather than a ‘sweat shop’ mentality.

I worked at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits (even though those have also diminished since the buy-out) and good policy (makes it easier to do our job because Chubb wrote a good product)

    Cons

Since Chubb was bought by Ace the company has gone down hill significantly. The Ace culture specializes in micromanagement, distrust, and creating more work for the employee. There is zero "work-life" balance which is what Chubb says they have. They do not. Employees are dropping like flies and morale could not be any lower. Many things need to change and it's sad to know it hasn't considering so many long-term, superstar, employees have recently left the company.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging the employees and trust them like you used to. You hired them for some reason - let them do their job until they've proven they can't be trusted. Don't create more work and reports when the process can be streamlined.

    Pros

    Flexible work environment
    Leading the industry
    Coffee at work
    Room for growth and opportunity
New infusion of technology in an old industry

    Cons

Cultural clash between multiple internal organizations
Cultural clash between legacy Chubb and Ace employees
    Lack of empathy for employees
    People are commodities
    CEO
    Information Technology

    Advice to Management

Employee surveys are useful when you use them. IT leadership must change to fit the new organizational model. Smart caring people exist in the organization and care about the success, find them.

I have been working at Chubb full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is a lot of flexibility when it comes to coming in late/having to leave early, but other than that this place has taken a turn for the WORST.

    Cons

All projects, timeframes, and expectations are completely unrealistic and impossible to complete. Working over 60 hours a week won't get the job done and goes unappreciated

    Advice to Management

    Find some compassion

I worked at Chubb full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits and pay were ok

    Cons

Legacy Chubb and Son really cared about employees and customers. They didn't always make the right decision, but it always felt like they were honestly trying to be fair and ethical.

The new Chubb Limited is just Ace in Chubb clothing. So many talented and dedicated long-time legacy Chubb were let go without a thought as to how the work would still get done, only to be replaced by consultants. Those let go were told that if they do find another job at Chubb after they leave, they will have to repay their severance...but they will also have to start as a brand new employee. They have no way to gain back 20+ (in many, many cases) years of service. This means much less vacation time, no company paid disability, etc. Why come back??

    Advice to Management

Stop telling everyone how smoothly the transition went and how easily the cultures merged, and work on actually making Chubb sn employer of choice. If you don't care about the enormous amount of talent and experience you lost and continue to lose, eventually the true word will get out. You won't be able to hire good talent.
