I worked at Cisco Systems full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good people culture, socially responsible, flexible working hours, and well set up for remote working. Lots of training options and good benefits. Some opportunities to travel to or work in the US. Employees generally get a good level or autonomy and opportunities to grow

    Cons

It's a big company and feel hard to change anything quickly. It's a global company but most things still revolve around the US. There are many "All Hands" type meetings from each level of management.

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Cisco is employee and customer focused - this has been brought our even more so in the pandemic with SLT regular checkins, commitment to staff, commitment to customers, flexibility for customers and encouragement for staff to get involved in local causes to help. - approachable management with clear direction - flexible working was supported prior to the pandemic but even more so during and expected to be after - employee wealthfare is pivotal and programs support this - relevant technology but delivered with a focus on the customer outcomes and how that technology enables, not simply about selling "a widget" - lines of accountability and responsibility - opportunity to progress

    Cons

    - the IT industry is one of constant change, driven by customer demand and technology - Cisco has to change and mould to be aligned, so to some respects change is a constant

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - A truly flexible working culture. You can work anywhere at anytime- but if they are flexible, you need to be flexible too - Great pay and career opportunities. Cisco always gives you (and encourages) you to try new roles/ paths - Intelligent and passionate people with great vision from VPs/ Execs

    Cons

Not a con but more of a side note- you get all the above cons but are expected to work hard and give it your all. Another thing I have noticed is there does seem to be a yearly 'restructuring' where quite a few redundancies are made to remove bottom 10%. Then shortly after there will be a mass hiring of new talent (although this may be a positive to remove slackers and keep an energised workforce)

I have been working at Cisco Systems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you love people and technology - Cisco is an excellent place to start, grow and extend into a role. CSAP (Cisco Sales Associate Program) - is a global accelerated program designed for you to learn and propel your career at Cisco. You are given the opportunity to gain professional certifications, travel and create worldwide friendship. This year long program was the perfect way for to start my career at Cisco. Cisco will allow you to move to find a role to suit you and managers are supportive for you progressing in your career path. There is a reason why #lovewhereyouwork and #wearecisco go hand in hand, flexible working is encouraged to help you work how and when suits you, Fun fund is what happens every few months to bond and have fun with your team mates. If people culture is something you are looking for in your career, Cisco is where you will be made to feel at home with a new Cisco Family.

    Cons

As with any big company; restructuring, politics and change can majorly impact careers but this is not unique to Cisco. Change in technology, change in workplaces will happen in any field this is not something to fear.
