I have been working at Citi full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice work environment Central location Good to put on CV

    Cons

Long working hours beyond your contracted hours. You will be expected to stay late every night with no additional pay. There are some there work 11-12 hour days. If you do leave on time you'll be expected to give a reason and made to feel bad about it by management. Lack of communication between teams, management, co workers makes working difficult day to day. Lack of atmosphere, most workers look like zombies and talk like them too, no craic. Any wonder when they work so many hours they aren't getting paid for.

I worked at Citi full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Intelligent people; learning every day; respectful work environment and collaborative culture.

    Cons

Volume of work - a senior business head told me if you can get 60% of your work done - that’s an exceptional day. The culture started to change - ruthless individuals put in positions of power. It is changing again now, but there was a bloodbath for some years.

I have been working at Citi full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Relaxed working environment for a bank, without the work culture of excessive hours which sometimes exist in investment banking.

    Cons

Terribly outdated technology stack. Many parts of the code base have code written over 20 years ago. The general monolithic nature of the software libraries have unfortunately created an environment in which it is very hard to be productive. This is unfortunately accepted as the status quo with little desire from senior management to change this.
