I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I work wth a fab team that al get on well, work hard and strive for a common goal. Immediate management is great.

    Cons

The culture is rotten to the core, particularly where it come to HR. This seems to be common throughout the organisatio They really are the worst of all of them and seem to be teflon coated. I believe this is a common problem through the US, APAC and EMEA. Why has nobody ever looked into this!!

    Advice to Management

Take a look at the impact HR have on the business. It certainly isn't a positive one.

    Pros

    Good solid products
    Good, not great, sales culture
Overall good strategy while being too Microsoft dependent

    Cons

Hard to be in management here above Director unless you are male. Also helps to be male and be a former member of Innovex

    Advice to Management

Increase your gender diversity and make the place less of a hostile work environment for anyone who might have a different perspective. Stop enforcing it as a 'boys club'

I worked at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Locally, nice and talented people. Reasonably interesting work, company appears to actually give a damn from time to time. Flexible.

    Cons

Politics is dominated by USA, hard to know what's going on. Open plan offices - horrible to work in. Company doubled in size over five years and suffered from this.

    Advice to Management

Get yourself a decent employee feedback systems, and then maybe you'd have some clue as to what's going on and how people feel.

I have been working at Citrix full-time

    Pros

Citrix as a company is flexible, has a good culture, and has decent work life balance

    Cons

Skill sets fairly niche, company is beginning to downsize\experience challenges maintaining growth

    Advice to Management

Fairly happy with my management team at the moment

    Pros

Changing the CEO was needed but came a bit too late and without cleansing the entire chain of managers. Hopefully will be bought by Microsoft in less than a year, they will fire another round but in the end it will be good for share holders, remaining staff and future of the business.

    Cons

I have seen talented people leaving Citrix instead of seeing useless staff being fired. There was no cleaning at directors level and I know that at least in UK this was needed. Middle managers continue to ignore or hide warning signals coming from below... no worries that even if the board wants to fix the company they will have to very hard job.

    Advice to Management

Layoff more people but be sure you do this with those that are not adding value to the company. IT department is a disaster and nobody touched it. When you see that useless staff is promoted for doing almost nothing for years and those that are hard working and innovating are allowed to leave or even convinced to leave you realise that there is a management issue.

    Pros

*Worklife balance - although that is no longer unique to Citrix and most employers now embrace a flexible working policy
    *Colleagues

    Cons

    * Lacking direction & relevance in the market place
    * Lacking innovation at a product level
    * Inconsistent messaging from SMT
    * Haemorrhaging staff in region and at a global level
    * Perpetual rumours of being sold off
    * Unachievable growth targets - some regional targets at circa 100% YOY growth. Wider organisation growth in single digits

    Advice to Management

'There is something rotten in the state of Denmark'.

I have been working at Citrix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart people. Lots of development products and opportunities to learn new things.
Developers are open to communication and are friendly.

    Cons

Lots of internal software to use, the build system is a bit slow and it can take ages to get things done especially if you're product has so many moving parts

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring the right people.
