I have been working at Clifford Chance full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great environment with challenging work where you can really make a difference. Get great exposure to a wide range of professionals, international/global environment but doesn’t feel to big where I’m just a number. Business services feels part of the whole Firm and not just a support function. Firm clearly forward thinking and embracing change.

    Cons

There are challenges every day but in a good way.

    Advice to Management

Keep driving change and innovation but ensure you join it up and engage associates and employees on the way.

I have been working at Clifford Chance (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work, great office, decent people, decent rumuneration, great for CV

    Cons

Long hours, stressful workloads, difficult to hit targets, no incentive to do anything other than billable work.

    Advice to Management

Kill the billable hour or at least remove it from your assessment of an employee’s contribution as it only incentivises inefficiency.

I have been working at Clifford Chance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, free gym (medium sized on-site Nuffield Health + swimming pool). Good training opportunities and a feel that job progression is supported.

    Cons

Within IT there seems to be a lot of hoops to get through in order to get items progressed. This often causes delays and a lot of pressure when things don't happen quickly.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Clifford Chance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Superb offices with top facilities (gym, pool, squash courts, bar, restaurants, hairdressers, dry cleaners etc. - all on site)
    - Autonomous, mature environment
    - Whilst it's autonomous, everyone is still really friendly and collegiate

    Cons

    - Non-'work' related: there are only 2 train lines that go in to Canary Wharf at present, so if there are problems on one of the lines it gets VERY busy and sometimes it takes a long time to travel

    Pros

    Very good existing client base

    Cons

Firm is on the way down

    Advice to Management

Need to revise strategy to compete with US firms

I worked at Clifford Chance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Supportive, friendly and fun team environment. Nice office facilities eg onsite staff gym, bar and café.

    Cons

Slow, unclear development prospects - NB this is very different from solicitors where promotion and development path is much clearer.
