I have been working at Cloudreach full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Work/Life balance People are passionate, intelligent and easy to work with Working in an interesting field that is impacting the industry as a whole Growing like crazy with opportunities for growth into lead positions Open communication from leadership team Fast paced environment with the flexibility - get your work done and you won't be micromanaged

    Cons

Growing pains are a real thing, but worth it if you want to be a part of a company that is gaining competitive advantage and breaking through tech barriers. No company is perfect but at least here they're working to alleviate the pains.

I worked at Cloudreach full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The individual contributors and engineering talent is there; if you are just starting out your career, Cloudreach peers will help you in any way they can because we genuinely want you to succeed, in spite of leadership. Unlimited time off and flexible work schedule allows you to take care of personal life and relationships comfortably, without affecting work. People are friendly, and enjoy spending time with each...

    Cons

Ever since a new CEO was brought on in August 2018, a few organizational restructurings and pivots have happened. Since then, the company has completely lost any semblance of an identity in who it is, and what it stands for. A few examples are illustrated below: - Grassroots campaigns like the Alliance for Partnerships and Inclusion (API) has completely lost focus, and pretty much fallen apart due to lack of interest...

    Advice to Management

LOYAL; Listen or you always lose. Listen to those who are leaving, listen to those who have been with Cloudreach a long time to see why people have been sticking around. If you don't pay us enough, at least keep the culture that has fostered so much personal growth and amazing technical solutions that have come through. Don't shy away from getting to know individuals who are the most vocal. Also, be honest and transparent....

I have been working at Cloudreach full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are still some great people at Cloudreach below the senior management level who go above and beyond to try and make this a great place to work. Despite the nice to haves being reduced there are still many perks to work at Cloudreach. The company has ambition and aims to be a market leader. Middle management are still worth following.

    Cons

The hypergrowth has diluted the feel of working for an exciting start up, as such it has become like any other big business without the bonus of established routines, processes and equivalent renumeration. The company has shifted from being European led to being American run (this is only a con if you prefer the former) with a change in focus, priorities and leadership style. Although I was not aiming for any promotions...

    Advice to Management

When I joined the company everyone around me said it was a great place to work. Now it feels like the only people who say this are the higher echelons of the business to the point it feels Orwellian. This, I feel, is the wrong way round and consideration should be made of what worked previously and how it can be infused with the current direction.

I have been working at Cloudreach full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are genuinely very nice people working at Cloudreach. You get to work with interesting technologies at least sometimes. The CEO is one of the only leadership members who is willing to treat us as adults and say something like "we don't know what to do about this problem" instead of "we are working on it, but can't go into details"

    Cons

I'll order these by how much they affect day-to-day life.. 1, The management/leadership organisation is completely broken. We have leadership with no clue about technology who basically make decisions without any understanding. They are often very detached from reality and only speak in visions without understanding anything. "That's just a resourcing issue" is a common phrase, even when the problem being raised is lack...

    Advice to Management

Collect reviews on all leadership members company wide, continuously. Let people review their managers and managerial chain. Instead of saying things like "we are working on it" say the actual state of things. We are not children, being told something will happen in 2 years time because xyz is taking up resources is better than being told 5 things are being worked on .. for years.

    Pros

    • Amazing people and even more awesome colleagues • Flexibility & working from home. • Opportunities to progress in a different direction. • There's so much learning potential in all different areas. • The perks & benefits, they're unparalleled from anything I've seen before. • Generally a 1-2-1 is promised every week, but after a while it felt like this happened every few months instead (2017-2018). • Sometimes an inquiry to management via your manager would take a while (not the manager's fault), in one case it took almost 8 months to get a response after chasing (2017). • A certain colleague in another department did not have the best of relationship, they were constantly trying to undermine...

I worked at Cloudreach full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Company is growing at an exponential pace, due to key strategic partnerships and being first to market.

    Cons

Scrappy middle-managers are making their way up the leadership chain, preventing anyone from attempting to be creative, taking risks and thinking outside of the box (aka innovating). Instead, they need an army of procedural drones to carry out a predetermined set of operational procedures.

    Advice to Management

When entering a new country, to establish an office, consider the people and culture there before attempting to roll out a universal template that may work great with University of Edinburgh graduates, but not necessarily with industry professionals in general.

I worked at Cloudreach full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great people, historically before Relus. - Great focus on growth and development for IC - Opportunities to grow with company, if you know who/where to look - Historically, great projects where we are doing innovative work worth talking about.

    Cons

Let's just put it out there - Relus was a bad choice. I left Cloudreach primiarly because of what I saw happening post Relus acquisition. If Relus had never been acquired, I would still be at Cloudreach. The Blackstone acquisition is also a likely factor in causing some of the following cons. Having said that, I think the Relus culture and leadership brought on both were bigger factors across the board in letting...

    Advice to Management

If we had a time machine I would say to go back and never acquire Relus. In lieu of magic, cut Relus leadership out to make a clear statement to the "Vintage" Cloudreach organization that they have heard their complaints about Relus and are willing to take action. Relus was a bad choice, can't we just say it out loud at this point?
