I have been working at Co-op part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I look forward to coming to work. Positive work culture, approachable colleagues. Plenty of support and training. No pressure to meet impossible targets or be perfect at everything. Lots of opportunities to learn new things. Early and late hours can be tiring but have fit in really well around my studies. Very flexible with taking on more hours than I'm contracted for. Pay is fantastic and plenty of holiday leave.

    Cons

Often understaffed on the shop floor which makes it hard to keep standards up and complete tasks properly. Get the impression that full-time supervisors and managers are overworked.

I worked at Co-op part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - There's opportunities for promotion if you have got the work ethic, commitment and desire to move up the ladder. - Enjoyed engaging with customers. - Staff were friendly.

    Cons

    - At times, it was understaffed. At many situations, there was only 2 staff in - someone at the till and a team leader/store manager on the shop floor. This made it very difficult for the store to run efficiently.

Thank you very much for your review. It's lovely to hear that you would recommend us as an employer. We are always taking on feedback from our store colleagues and hopefully the introduction of MyWork is helping to streamline processes in store.

I worked at Co-op part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Most customers were understanding and patient even though I suffered from dyslexia .

    Cons

Their was some training but sometimes when you asked for help they say something like it’s easy to do when you haven’t been told and mangers moan.

    Advice to Management

When you get taken to office for something wrong you do and they say they will talk to you about it they should, also being mentioned by your manager you didn’t tell them about your Disablity when you did it’s awful to feel like you a liar , managers need to give more time for people with Disablity it’s our right under the equal opportunities act 1995. Manager also said she hired me as I worked as a team leader in another...

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Co-op for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good pay, unions close by in the business, always kept busy

    Cons

The structure of the business focuses entirely on sales, ethics goes out the window depending on the store you work at.

    Advice to Management

Store managers get hammered for not hitting goals, bad managers will take that out on the staff.

I worked at Co-op part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Double discount on pay day weekend.

    Cons

12 -16 hour contracts offered dispute working 30 hour weeks. Weeks notice of change to Rota and expected to do it. No security in a rough area with shoplifters we were expected to deal with. Was grabbed by a customer and management did not care. No support to females with mental health or family issues. Manager definatly sexist and lacks communication. Left this job due to a breakdown after working for 1year and a half....
