I have been working at Cobham full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good employees get recognised with the chance of development and stretching projects. There have been a lot of leadership changes of late but it looks like the changes were for the better. The Quality VP is still there and he is the best of the lot, motivating, supportive and with great vision.

    Cons

If you want steady work where every day is the same and you watch the clock reach 5. Then this is NOT the company for you.

    Advice to Management

Stabilise the Leadership and the organisation and direct all energy to improvements.

I have been working at Cobham full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, decent people to work with, and you get paid weekly.

    Cons

Poor training. Company is very much in its infant stage and growing at a rate faster than it has people, yet keep taking on projects. Management wants everyone to work a minimum of 45 -50 week even though you only get paid for 40. Pay is decent but not for the amount of hours they want you to work. Work/family life is not well balanced, if they could they'd have you live at work.

    Advice to Management

Stop having so many meetings, stop accepting business when you know you don't have enough people to complete the project.

I worked at Cobham full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and annual leave but sadly that is where it ends! It could be so much better. They are just not investing in people and it now has too many contractors.

    Cons

Company is led by self-important Directors who have no regard for their loyal employees. Constantly making changes with no work-life balance. They will let you work long hours and it is expected. High turnover of staff and always recruiting, not able to keep the good ones and they often leave or are made redundant for no reason. Company is not in a good way, in particular Hurn, Bournemouth.

    Advice to Management

Don't be arrogant and assume people will want to work at a company. Re-think your performance review process, it mis-leads employees and actually isn't worth the effort of going through it twice a year. Managers do not complete them or allow you to progress after they say they will.

I worked at Cobham full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

9/80 work schedule. Some people are cool. Most are not.

    Cons

Pay was below average. CAES IT Management is misguided and not focused on the right things. IT leads and engineers were incompetent. and lazy. Still using old designs because "it still works" when there are better options out there. Everyone is afraid of change. Service tickets get passed around because nobody wants to take ownership and go the extra mile to close it.

    Advice to Management

Get new IT management in CAES. Invest in good, talented people, not folks who just get by.

I have been working at Cobham full-time

    Pros

Some pros would be the environment is clean, warm and very safety conscious. Also highly discounted staff canteen is great.

    Cons

Over complicating many of the process and all ways chasing targets can be a little stressful

    Advice to Management

Open up the salary bracket at the lower end to help find the right skill set required for operator roles
