A new start for an experienced studio

    Pros

Very talented and down to earth team, who are passionate about what they do. A creative atmosphere that encourages new thinking and gives staff the time and space to try things out. Generally, it is a very inspiring place to work at the moment. The new managment team really seem to understand and value what the team here is trying to do. Wages are very competitive for this area.

    Cons

Runcorn is not the greatest location, and the office can be difficult to reach without a car. On top of that local infrastructure works means driving takes longer than it should. CM is focused on racing now, and there is little chance of working on anything else.

    A shambles!

    Pros

There are a lot of talented members of staff producing a number of 'quality' products. A strong knowledge of developing good Driving games (but with a total lack of all other game genres).

    Cons

Hours of endless TOIL to complete poorly planned projects. A nonsensical bonus scheme that see's a tiny little % go to any members of staff that actually commit and contribute the most amount of work. Poor inexperienced members of staff that should have been fired years ago. An extremely poor engine and an unwilling to switch to a far more superior 3rd Engine (an ultimately free up resource and save money long term). Continuous attempts to appear more profitable to attempt and buy out and stock market floatation (at the expense of staff members and failed projects).

    Pros

Studio has a great atmosphere and all the staff are friendly and approachable.

    Cons

Being on a contract doesn't give you access to the benefits such as bike to work or bonuses, even tho your still a member of the team.

Safe job but a bad attitude to crunch.

    Pros

Secure job due to predictable release schedule of their two big franchise games. Devotion to ensuring the games are of highest quality. Overtime pay and milestone bonuses.

    Cons

Crunch was practically included in the development schedule from the outset and treated as a normal part of work. Studio is in the middle of nowhere, making the commute difficult. A reliance on outsourcing for most of the asset creation work, means that it's a bad place for someone looking to improve their art skills.

    Pros

Relative stability in the videogame industry, good portfolio of games, high profile for a UK developer, good technology base, pleasant rural setting, fairly average compensation package.

    Cons

Very long hours, too much management, too much outsourcing, non-transparency of management structures. Too much reliance on old IP rather than attempting new ideas.
