I worked at Conagra Brands full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Executive leadership team has brought excitement to the company

    Cons

Mid-level management, Omaha is more focused on just keeping a job instead of developing future leaders

    Advice to Management

Continue pushing forward with the strategic vision and invest in people development

I worked at Conagra Brands full-time

      Pros

Mostly nice people to work with. Beautiful campus in Omaha. Nice new offices in Chicago.

      Cons

The company has been going through a lot of change. Workloads are huge. Many people with lots of valuable knowledge of the business are gone.

I worked at Conagra Brands full-time for more than a year

      Pros

I had a great time working on the customer team I was originally hired for. The field employees are amazing and I learned a lot in the limited time I spent with them. Too bad they cut those teams drastically to save a buck, those were the people that were getting things done. At least the severance packages are generous

      Cons

Moving to the HQ office was the worst mistake of my career. They kept the wrong people in the brand and insights functions while doing layoffs in 2015. Many of the Omaha brand folks still haven't gotten over the fact that they had to move to keep their jobs and question the ability of anyone that they haven't worked with for multiple years. They also don't care about facts...

      Advice to Management

Do what you actually say your going to do and invest in things that make sense - stop with all the ridiculous cost cutting. Have conversations with employees and make changes to retain them - there's a reason so many folks have jumped ship since the reorg, and it has nothing to do with a commute or lack of dedication.

I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

      Salary in Omaha is awesome

      Cons

Fewer people for the same amount of work, decision makers can't articulate what they want, limited, if any, development, limited work perks, no travel, no catered lunches, etc.

      Advice to Management

Take care of your high performers otherwise they will leave. I've seen so many talented people leave and tribal knowledge is lost. Rebuilding (if possible) takes so long and performance suffers.

I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Company is reinventing itself with the upcoming spin of the LW division with remaining organization becoming Conagra Brands. High energy, vibrant culture, a clear focus on growth. Omaha is a great complement to Chicago and is proud to be the home of 1200 employees. Great senior leadership team that is aligned on the future and values employees.

      Cons

As part of reinvention comes change, a focus both internally and externally and the need for nimbleness to stay competitive. Change is a constant which can be empowering for some and overwhelming for others.

      Advice to Management

Keep the focus on the vibrant culture and transforming the way we think and the will to win.

I worked at Conagra Brands full-time

      Pros

      - Opportunity to learn and grow. - Decent pay for Omaha area. - Beautiful campus. - Some flexibility in schedule and work environment.

      Cons

      - High change environment. - Many RIFS and reorganizations. - Little empowerment to make decisions. Even the smallest decisions are run up the chain. A lot of hard work goes into assignments that get lost because leadership has to make the decision and they have more important priorities. - Many HR programs / initiatives designed to drive engagement, culture and employee growth have been cut. - The "do more with less"...

      Advice to Management

ConAgra was once a place employees were proud to work. There was a time when employees smiled and happily said "good morning" as they walked through the doors. Over the course of the last few years, this died almost completely along with the company culture the previous CEO and his team worked hard to build. Pick a company direction and commit to it. Trust your employees. Regardless of how much power the CEO position...

I have been working at Conagra Brands

      Pros

When CAG was under the leadership of Bruce Rhode, CAG was a vibrant and exciting place to work - full of opportunities for career progression, and projects galore.

      Cons

CAG has come under the leadership of Sean Connolly, whose career history is to dismantle companies and then bails. This is what has happened to CAG - relocated headquarters to Chicago - created a shady deal for tax incentives. Outsources majority of back office to India. Laid off half of the Omaha workforce. Eliminated most of the great programs available to employees. Unless...

I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

I've been with the company for a few months and was hired to replace an employee who did not want to relocate from Omaha to Chicago as part of the restructuring. So far, my experience has been largely positive. There is a great energy at the Chicago office. (which is brand new and very nice) There are lots of other new employees and we are all working together to get up to speed. I am very optimistic that our leaders...

      Cons

The experience for employees based in Omaha is quite different. Morale is understandably lower there given the lay-offs and move of the headquarters. Working with people in that office can be challenging given the circumstances. All employees need to get comfortable in an environment that changes more frequently than it did in the past. The reality is that isn't what...

I worked at Conagra Brands (Less than a year)

      Pros

HR was great! They were quick to answer any questions that I had. The employees also treat you as an equal. You are given the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

      Cons

Interns located somewhere other than Omaha or Chicago, feel somewhat of a disconnect from the interns that stay in Omaha during the summer.

      Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Also, more trips to other sites and the new Chicago building would have given us interns a better look at where ConAgra was heading culturally.
