I have been working at Conagra Brands full-time

    Pros

The pay is good, surrounded by some truly good people.

    Cons

ZERO work life balance. The Plant Manager should have been fired at least 3 years ago

    Advice to Management

When you have a Plant Manager that bullies and demeans people just to show HE'S in charge. Plan on paying the bill.

    Pros

    Company car, High bonus potential

    Cons

Benefits stink. No work life balance. Employees are overworked and they keep loading it beyond and above. Too many product lines to manage. Salary is not competitive. No opportunity to advance. Cheap company

I worked at Conagra Brands full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Decent work/life balance. Not overly political. If you come in from the outside, the compensation package is good. At the time I started they had both 401K with match and pension. (I am told new hires do not receive pension, and ConAgra have now indexed pensions)

    Cons

Ralcorp, Ralcorp, Ralcorp. Former CEO Gary Rodkin made one of the biggest acquisition blunders in modern CPG history. Google it. This led to a complete change in employee mindset, which til this day has not recovered. There were many layoffs, the corporate office was moved to Chicago, many employees were demoted in title. CEO that replaced Gary Rodkin seems very disingenuous. Tries to give the appearance he has...

    Advice to Management

Win back the confidence of your employees. Convince them CAG is not for sale or will not be broken up in parts.

      Pros

I began with Conagra as an intern 5 years ago and have been moved through the ranks, invested in, and successful in multiple roles across multiple organizations in that time period. I have received 4 promotions since I started with Conagra and absolutely love what I do. Advice to Management

Keep investing in millennial talent and try to look past age/experience and instead ask yourself if they're over delivering and exceeding expectations!

I worked at Conagra Brands full-time

      Pros

      - HQ location is nice, and the office is modern and handsome. - A decent place to learn about the world of food/beverage and grocery and how they are changing since the portfolio of brands is evolving to try to adapt.

      Cons

      - There are fewer and fewer tenured, experienced employees, and little motivation to stay and make a career here. - Increasingly micromanaged and political atmosphere with no autonomy. Even small decisions seem to require many layers of approval. - Focus on SG&A reduction and what shareholders think are the supreme concerns; people development and company culture are irrelevant to Sr Leaders. Advice to Management

Company culture starts at the top. Employees are looking at what you do and not just what you say, and can see the major discrepancies between those things. Empower and reward top performers, not top cronies.
