      Pros

Staff is great, everyone is really friendly. Overall a very creative environment, good corporate culture.

      Cons

Expect to work very hard for little reward, you will be doing the job of three people for a base salary.

      Great for launching your career

      Pros

Many lovely people to work with across the business and country. Great brand recognition for securing your next gig.

      Cons

Salary is very low and expectations are high. No clarity about projects, job function, growth, performance etc. No room for growth especially if you are a junior person of colour. Managers are not suited to manage people and lack basic technical and communication skills. No career development. Bullying is rampant and starts at the very top. Lots of talk about work/life balance and wellness but you're asked to work early or late with no compensation (including a thank you which is the bare minimum) and if you push back managers will spread rumours about you. On the flip side, if you do work those extra hours you will get more work and nothing else. Managers take credit for team work. No success metrics for any projects. Annual reviews are a joke and truly meaningless. Quarterly pulse surveys are equally meaningless. They just report on how many people completed the survey as a success metric and it seems like they purposely obfuscate the results to make it difficult to understand.

      Pros

Nice people. Good benefits. Lovely culture. Work isn't too difficult.

      Cons

You're not going to develop your career here a lot. If you're looking for a lot of money this isn't the place.

      Pros

Generally, there is a constant flow of series work which can keep you animating for years. Good benefits. Nice location. Very talented artists. Pay may be slightly lower than industry standards but work life balance is very good.

      Cons

Not always the most engaging projects. Though a very inclusive workplace, Ageism seems to be an issue.

Best Company I've Ever Worked For

Dec 25, 2020 - Creative Services in Calgary, AB

      Pros

      - Progressive corporate culture (big emphasis on diversity and inclusion, work/life balance, etc.) - Friday half days from May Long Weekend through Labour Day Weekend (workload permitting) - Flex time - Good compensation - Company-wide pulse checks via employee surveys (topics like job satisfaction, clarity of overarching objectives, resource management)

      Cons

None, for me. It upsets me to read all of the negative reviews because Corus was amazing to me from day one until I was laid off recently due to COVID restructuring. I hold no ill will against the company at all. In fact, I'd love to get back on board with them if possible. This is a company that makes a genuine effort to show they value employees. Lots of communication from the executive leadership team (emails, video messages, and even in-person visits to offices nationwide) and clearly defined roles and expectations. I love the structure Corus provides. I grew immeasurably both personally and professionally at Corus and had the pleasure of working with the best team I've ever known.

      Pros

      - Great people and management - Excellent location - 15 minute walk from GO station - Outside of noisy, busy downtown core

      Cons

      - Hours are not 9-5 depending on the area you work in - Crazy early or late shifts, again depending on the area you work in
