I have been working at Credit Suisse full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, generous pension, average industry bonus, very nice people to work with

    Cons

Senior management is not great, development and training reserved for MDs and Directors while more junior staff is forgotten (just a number). Leadership at the top is uninspiring. HR function changed and no support is given to employees. Very clique-y, so you need to be in the right group. Stagnant salaries and no annual pay increases. The business is undergoing lots of changes, and staff is being made redundant. Very low morale at the moment. Very little promotion opportunities as already an inverted pyramid organisational structure - too many directors and MDs but not enough "do"-ers aka Analysts. People leave and are not being replaced, instead their work is spread out amongst remaining staff, resulting in burnout and people going on stress induced medical leave. All talented, high-performing people leave within 2 years, while under-performers continue to work there for years becoming Directors and MDs. It is a sad place to work at the moment.

    Advice to Management

Top management needs a significant change - currently it is uninspiring. More focus should be placed on the development of junior staff and retention of high performers. Compensation needs to be reviewed ASAP as for years it stayed flat with no annual increases, even for inflation. So in reality employees are making less money today than they were 3 years ago. Staff reward programs are non-existent. It is all just a smoke and mirrors recently.

    Pros

Good working environment with balanced working hours. Good team collaboration mostly and there's some challenging projects.
    Good opportunities for internal mobility.

    Cons

There's a lot of downsizing the past three years. As a result a lot of good people have left the bank. Compromise between quantity over quality.

    Pros

Many opportunities to train and learn, good access to learning resources. Internal mobility well supported, including abroad. Office recently refurbished. Diverse culture. Working from home supported.
