Pros

The ability to accept or decline work (if they listen - I got sent work and follow up emails whilst on holiday, and even got assigned something on Christmas Day despite notifying of my unavailability since November) Most assignments have a 48 hour deadline.

Cons

Having worked for other editing companies the general structure is that you are employed as an editor, do the work, a more senior editor checks the work over to catch mistakes and provide feedback, before passing final edited document to client. Not Enago, you are the only editor. No feedback is given for improvement. If a document is randomly picked for audit, any feedback given means you do not get paid at all for the document. This means hours of restructuring a document can go unpaid if you miss out a comma. A lot of work had extremely tight deadlines, and despite what the employee handbook says, there are no salary negotiations considering this. Enago gives a discount to any author submitting a document over 10,000 words. I understand this. I do not understand why this discount is taken from the editor. I did not agree a discount; long documents therefore mean more work for less pay. My pay rate was $10 per 1000 words. This is extremely low when compared to other, similar, companies.

Pros

Open-office work culture, multi-cultural, good office location

Cons

The CEO is most arrogant, does not respect its employees. The company is not clear where they want to go. If u r hired be double sure about what they are hiring for as their HR and CEO themselves look confuse about the role

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take feedback of both, our current and former employees very seriously to improve our systems. We are worried regarding your concern for lack of work life balance. . Through 5-day working week, flexible work timings, generous paid time off and special leaves (maternity, paternity, bereavement or marriage leaves) we extend our support and care to all our Crimsonites! We even have flexible public holidays so that Crimsonites can avail leaves from a list of public holidays as per their choice and need. In fact, we have mandated some leaves every quarter to ensure that our people take regular breaks from work. We have thoughtfully designed such policies to ensure that Crimsonites attend to their personal commitments seamlessly. At Crimson, we believe in orderly planning of work to avoid any inconvenience or stress. There are weekly and daily scrums to understand individual workloads, leave plans and business priorities which would ensure all our requirements are met. Also, please be assured that we understand the importance of planning and all our new processes are designed after thorough brainstorming with the concerned teams. Thereafter, implementation is done in planned phases. We always strive to create a friendly and nurturing work environment for our people where all their needs are catered to and they get ample of opportunities to grow. To achieve this, all our people are regularly trained to conduct themselves according to our values and culture, as they are our true ambassadors and partners. While we no longer work together, we hope we could address your concerns satisfactorily. Also, thank you for the kind words regarding the learning opportunities, people and ambience at Crimson.
