I worked at Cundall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good for grads, variety of projects worldwide. Opportunity to travel.

    Cons

Lack of cooperation between offices/departments. No respect for work life balance. Below average salaries.

    Advice to Management

More flexible working. Give intermediate level staff opportunities to progress.

I have been working at Cundall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Substantial investment in training and development. Taking bold steps to build a diverse and inclusive workplace. Modern offices. Global presence. Most offices and teams are working hard to achieve positive work-life balance

    Cons

Project pressures, particularly when working with big name clients. Leadership team operate in a (overwhelmingly white, male) bubble. Lack of diversity at the top table means a lack of role models for women and non-white staff. Recent developments indicate that this issue is being taken seriously, but Partners need to take responsibility rather than leaving it to HR.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people who aren't cut out for management roles just because they threaten to leave. Stop making poor excuses for why women have left the business at Principal/Associate level. It's your responsibility to nurture talent, and not just the white ones with a Y chromosome who remind you of yourself.

I have been working at Cundall full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Amazing internal training, excellent sustainability initiatives, well established secondment routes.

    Cons

Undefined progression strategies for top management roles

    Advice to Management

A spot check of completed appraisal forms for leaders and future leaders would go a long way to reducing marginalization for some of the more talented individuals.

I worked at Cundall full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Plenty of experienced engineers to learn from. Unlike other consultancies I've worked at directors are experts in their field (not just well connected bean counters) and generally hands on with projects and willing to help, advise and pass on their experience. Generally finance is dealt with at director level allowing engineers to be engineers. Had a few late nights but work life balance good. Informal flexi time... agreed with manager on adhoc basis worked well.

    Cons

Went through 3 pay reviews and only ever got cost of living rises despite positive development reviews and taking on more respinsibilty each year. I didn't want to leave but recieved a much better offer from elsewhere I couldn't turn down. High staff turn over.

    Advice to Management

Pay good engineers what their worth to reduce staff turnover.
