I have been working at Currys PC World full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Colleagues very helpful, most try to do a good job and have a sence of team working, though not developed and Company never mentions team working.

    Cons

Too many targets, never achive all, managment only interested in own progression and maoney wasted everywhere. Wages low,. bonus is a joke, little training and nil support.

    Advice to Management

Start to build a team, pay staff with longer service more to stay, stop losing experiance to other retailers.

I worked at Currys PC World full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

10% discount for staff and family

    Cons

11 targets to hit per customer
If you don't mention certain products to the customer whilst selling you can get a disciplinery.

    Advice to Management

    Seriously lower the targets

During the summer holidays some stores didn't have any targets temporary and they had least customer complaints plus the highest margin for the company in the UK.

Plus john Lewis have one target. Sales. I know this from a friend working at john Lewis and they have no stress

I have been working at Currys PC World part-time

    Pros

Some good company benefits such as 10% discount

    Cons

Targets are outrageous. You are told to mislead the customer into buying extras that they don't want in order to hit targets. This company is far too target based and can make the working day very stressful and upsetting.

Management don't help the situation with targets as they are constantly pressuring you, even when you are in the middle of serving customers. This company knows nothing abound customer service.

    Advice to Management

Respect your staff more and stop trying to force customers to buy extras that they don't want/need!

    Pros

    flexible hours, performance bonus, colleagues

    Cons

often managers do not understant that your life doesn't revolve around the store and that you have a family and kids. asking for holidays always has to come with a reson otherwise it may get denied, we are being pushed to sell and achieve their targets with no recognition and pushed to do business transaction even if the customer doesn't need a vat invoice, pushed for broadband connections. no bank holidays off, no time to be a mom

    Advice to Management

sort out your managers' knowledge and store stock

I have been working at Currys PC World part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount. £40 phone contract for £8! And the people. Everyone I've met there has been fantastic, whether they are temps, or permanent staff, everyone is friendly. When I fell ill my managers were very accommodating and fit rotors around my needs

    Cons

Managers are forced unachievable tasks and targets which then puts heavy pressure on the new starters whom are commonly in their first job

    Advice to Management

My line/store managers are brilliant. Their managers aren't. If the unachievable targets are continued I feel that a lot more staff will continue to leave
