"Do not care about the staff at all!"
Doesn't RecommendDisapproves of CEOI have been working at DFS Furniture full-time
Pros
It is possible to earn a decent amount if you sell a substantial amount and sell all the extras as well. The customers are usually pleasant to deal with.
Cons
It is shocking to see that DFS senior management do not care at all about their staff. During the recent Covid-19 tier 4 restrictions, where non-essential shops must close, DFS still forced employees to come to work. Given that the store is not open, why are they requiring the staff to put themselves at risk? Furthermore, when the store is open, sales morning briefings mean that staff HAVE to come in 1 hour earlier than our contract states. This is unpaid! If DFS requires staff to come in for morning briefings as it is part of the job, then you should be paying your staff for this. Store managers and area managers are also excessively rude to their staff. If any sales staff have any questions, managers tell them to 'go away and figure it out yourself'. Senior management also incessantly keep repeating about selling extras to customers, and in order for them to hit their management targets, are willing to lose a sale as long as it does not hurt the conversion figures.

One of the DFS group, being; DFS, Sofology, Dwell and Sofa Workshop so always room too progress your career, or transfer to better your own career whilst still working for the DFS group.
Cons
Hours are long 9am to 8pm 3 days out of Monday too Friday, two week days off however not always together. 9am to 6pm Saturdays being (MANDATORY) Sundays 11 am to 5pm again (MANDATORY) HOWEVER, even tho on a Saturday you start at 9am your expected took be there at 7.45am for a briefing meeting starting at 8am, and Sundays start at 11am but have to be there 9.45 am for 10 am meeting, both of these days the extra 1 hour 15 mins you are not payed for which is a let down. Unless you have friends or family or can make all your outside of work arrangements for after 8pm week days you WILL loose your social life.
