I worked at DW Sports part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Free gym membership
    20% discount in shop
supplied uniform one set which really isn’t enough
No day is the same and you get to meet different people

    Cons

Don’t give two hoots if you are freezing standing at the front desk it’s too bad
No sick pay , no maternity leave for part time staff,
Endless “extras” added to your work load with no extra pay.
No extra in the hourly rate for ungodly hours of opening.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to the little people!
Abit of flexibility for people with families and you wouldn’t have such a high turnover

I worked at DW Sports full-time

    Pros

    I had 20% off clothing.

    Cons

I was treated absolutely atrocious! All due to my age as I was youngest. Managing was disgusting. Was contracted 8 hours but forced me to do 30+ and if I tried to refuse that shift (as I was only contracted 8 so I told them I should not be doing that many) they would threaten to sack me!!

    Advice to Management

If your rota is messed up and that means you missed someone out so they can’t work that day do not take it out on their holidays

    Pros

Only pro is willing out the door!

    Cons

The manager is an aggressive nutter. Will act aggressively to staff even infront of customers. Calls younger staff profanities.

    Advice to Management

    Get a new manager!

I worked at DW Sports full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

None. Absolutely awful place. Totally Dickensien. Can't even stand to be in the build long enough to use the facilities for myself.

    Cons

Every aspect of the place and working in it are poisoned by the toxicity of the owners and the horrendous individuals who run it for them. The staff turnover is astonishing. Employees of a so called fitness company should not be walking sick or leaving like lemmings jumping off a cliff. Something is very wrong here. Wouldn't surprise me if they end up on Panorama.

    Advice to Management

None. Waste of time. Corporate psychopaths don't care and will eventually run it into the ground and out of existence...God willing.

I worked at DW Sports full-time

    Pros

Free gym membership and discount rate for a friend

    Cons

HO couldn't give a stuff, talk to you like crap and they don't trust anyone who is running the clubs for them. Area manager is really patronising. All the managers only care about is sales. If you have a problem they couldn't give a stuff. Takes so long to get stuff fixed in there and it's the staff that take the lashing from the unhappy members

    Advice to Management

Sort it out. Stop paying minimum wage on bank holidays and Christmas. Stop being so horrible to club staff try actually giving a stuff

    Pros

No pros to working hear treated like a skivvy!!!

    Cons

Managers don't know how to run the business, there is no communication, rubbish shifts expected to do over time but yet don't pay you extra. The wage is basic pay. Favouritism one rule for one and another for others.. Told to ask for a break and will only give you 15minutues unless your the reception and get treated like royality..all the members are lovely it's just ashame about the employees. I wouldn't recommend anyone to apply there.

    Advice to Management

Have some communication with staff, less attitude, treat people fairly. Sort out wage slips on time.
