Unhealthy culture, no work life balance

Pros

Good technical team, nice people!

Cons

Bad management! They practice extreme micro-management starting from the higher management and cause a lot drama between staff with playing the blame game. There is absolutely no work life balance as expectation is to work and be available weekends and after hours. I have seen couple of instances where requests are sent out to employees midnight to do work during the night. When you pull an all nighter and go in the next day, there is absolutely no recognition or appreciation.

Pros

Met some great people there. Pay can be good.

Cons

Very chaotic and unorganized with little regard for work life balance, waking up to 10-12 emails sent at 2am from colleagues - essentially expected to work 24/7. No support from the team as everyone is too busy to develop employees so it is a “sink or swim” mentality. So many issues with the product that clients are constantly pissed off. Culture is terrible. So much tension amongst team members. Constant “fighting”. Stock options provided need to be vested for four years and if you leave the company before a potential “sell-off” you get nothing.

Toxic culture - undervalue and overwork their employees

Pros

Work can potentially be challenging and interesting (if you're lucky enough to be put on the right tasks).

Cons

While the work - if you’re lucky to be put on the right tasks - has the potential to be interesting and challenging, the company culture is bad enough to make you forget that. As a technical resource, the company demands a lot of extra time from you beyond regular work hours without any recognition for over working you. The company tries hard to sell the fact that there is no drama because the reality is exactly opposite. A lot of politics in the company that will cause you unneeded stress. Management often blames individuals behind their back to cover up mistakes and failings, so be prepared to be thrown under the bus unexpectedly. The company generally has a toxic attitude of never valuing their employees and sees them as easily dispensable resources. There is also very little opportunity for growth and high chances of getting stuck doing tasks outside your role. Expressing what work you’d like to do is generally disregarded and will make you enemies. No conflict resolution strategies in place, bringing an issue to HR is looked down upon and could even get your laid off.

We appreciate your comments. Daisy is a start-up environment, and is fast moving, exciting, and challenging. We are sensitive and thankful to the amount of work our amazing team is doing. But it can sometimes be required in a fast-growth environment. We recognize that not every person will enjoy this environment. And may not be suited, nor perform well in it. The Company is doing our best to build a rewarding environment for employees, where quality work and effort is rewarded through team celebration, personal growth/rewards, and company success.
