      Pros

Good pay, 6 months maternity leave, FTO, free yogurt & Evian water

      Cons

Do not apply here unless you are fully prepared to work on your sick days, or while you are on vacation because that is the expectation. ELT members get away with bullying/hazing. HR is unprofessional, & inefficient at handling these issues. VERY high turnover, likely as a direct result of all of this.

      Pros

      Free Yogurt thats it !

      Cons

Was great prior to integration, WW destroyed culture. Top heavy management specifically HR with little vision and zero hands on skill. In summary this is what will happen 1. Loss of Talent - Post integration strong talent left or will continue due to unrealistic expectation from senior upper management specially in HR & Marketing 2. Existing management will promote useless remaining talent to justify their pay and buy time until all integration business or system 3. Soldiers roles will continue to get burnt out resulting in high attrition 4. Integration will continue to be a mess. To to justify and probably the right thin to do, Central leadership will finally start firing leadership starting from HR 5. New Leadership (more expensive) will try to do patch work. Based on which CULTURE (very imp!) will either start to improved or continue to deteriorate for some time 6. By the time it improves product disruption will have taken place and Danone will be up for sale or severe cost cutting measures.

      Pros

Free yogurt, free water and unreal PTO if you can take it.

      Cons

Don't let the PTO fool you, Dannon is well known for being one of the worst work/life balance companies in CPG. Leadership is obsessed with the short term, which means you will be working long hours and weekends, and wasting a lot of energy on projects that get started but never finished. Plus we like to be a "lean" organization, which is code for being understaffed. This all breeds a very negative culture. Getting through each day feels like trying to make it through a minefield. Unless you are part of the "in crowd" your own Director will backstab you and try to take credit for your work to get ahead. You will come home exhausted and dread getting up and doing it all over again. HR will tell you that this place is "not for everyone" because of our speed and agility. They will say you need to be a "Doer" or "Empowered" to distract from the true organizational problems. But HR themselves knows how hard it is to replace all the people leaving because our reputation in market is so bad. They have to depend on a pipeline of unsuspecting interns to recruit talent instead. Finally, don't expect to advance your career here if you are a woman. The number of women leading the company is embarrassing. When leadership changes occur, like the changes that are about to be announced, you will not see a single woman even being considered.

      Negative Culture + Chaotic Process

28 Jul 2015 - Associate Manager in White Plains, NY
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Generous vacation benefits (but not always easy to use). Free yogurt, all day and every day. Opportunity to work with very talented people (although many leave within one year) and learn a lot because projects move very quickly. A fast track promotion if you are a hard worker and politically aligned with the "in crowd." Entrepreneurial, if you want to take on new projects there’s lots of opportunities to do so.

      Cons

A highly political environment, managers are quick to throw others under the bus and point fingers instead of proactively managing teams/projects and learning from new processes. Politics overshadows talent and promotions are often given individuals who are political and/or culturally more similar to upper management. Incredibly lean organization with long hours; there’s a complete lack of work-life balance. Strategies are constantly shifting (no consistency) and resources are always constrained, leading to inefficient efforts on everyone’s part. Be prepared to work weekends and late nights to take care of last minute changes. Competition among within teams is encouraged to a level that is detrimental to the team. Much of middle management is very arrogant and egotistical and do no practice what they preach. Managers are more focused on self-promotion than team development and are quick to throw others under the bus. There’s a complete lack of professionalism among some Managers and Directors. CODE is a great philosophy but its skewed interpretation has led to a terribly negative culture in the White Plains office. If you are looking for good opportunities in FMCG/CPG - I would recommend looking outside of Dannon.

      Demoralizing experience.

      Pros

They paid me on time. Free yogurt. Monday through Thursday 40hr work week was great.

      Cons

Perhaps the lowest worker morale of any placed I've worked. Poor communication and procedure in the production environment leads to chaos regularly. The work pace ranges from putting on a show for the cameras (i.e. cleaning the same spot over and over again) to boxes falling off the conveyor belt, yogurt all over the place, cleaning/stacking simultaneously, and that GD intercom that sounds like a Vietnamese sweat shop providing the last push into insanity. You'll possibly be the most bored you've ever been to the most stressed you've ever been. Management took away our clock. Vindictive and weird.

      Pros

Free yogurt if you’re into that. Can get away with doing nothing as management is too disengaged to care/looking to get out themselves.

      Cons

Directionless since acquisition of whitewave in 2017. Since then, all talented people have left for better jobs with other conpanies. Employees that could get other jobs did. Those still there fall into 3 categories - 1) interviewing & trying to get out, 2) aren't able to get an offer from another company so stuck there or 3) are an ex-patriots from Europe who Dannon hosts in the US because no local talent wants to work in White Plains. They have changed their name 3 times in the last several months. Dannon; DanoneWave; DanoneNorthAmerica. Dont even know who they are. Fights internal battles. Ceo and management turn churned over quickly. Disorganized, policies unclear.

      Pros

Salary above industry average, generous PTO, small handful of talented folks (most of which were looking to leave when I was still there), free yogurt and evian

      Cons

Greek yogurt no longer driving growth in the category; many poorly thought out, ill supported, quickly launched innovations that fail. Some of the worst marketing minds I have worked with; everyone too focused on trade promotional strategy rather than building brands... further commoditizing the category; The caliber of talent and intellect severely lacking; Extremely long hours, expectation to work nights and weekends every week (never have I received more calls while on vacation or when i'm trying to get my kid ready for school at 7am than at Dannon); Most positions here are extremely under resourced, hence the high turnover. I have not learned a single thing while at Dannon,

      Pros

The culture and people are great. Almost everyone is willing to help you and will explain what needs to be done. You learn so much since it's a smaller CPG where you see, hear, and do more. Plus lots of free yogurt, frozen yogurt, and Evian water to eat and drink every day.

      Cons

Sometimes it's fast paced. Much of the direction comes from HQ in Paris.
