I worked at Day Lewis full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A really generous, family oriented company to work for. Everyone is valued and isn’t just a ‘number’ which is hard to find these days. Nice Christmas bonus’. Annual Day Lewis confrence in London. Career pathway progression. Good management who listen. Monday to Friday work pattern. Weekends off.

    Cons

Some branches have very nasty staff with poor attitudes who are very cliquey.

    Advice to Management

Discipline for unprofessional staff who are not only rude in general but to customers! These people also tend to float around the dispensary gossiping unethically for all to hear. Not what potentially unwell patients collecting medication what to hear.

I have been working at Day Lewis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - SOME kind members off staff in certain branches
    - Potential for Xmas bonus

    Cons

    - Pay as little as they can
    - A lot of work/ stress for little money
    - No pay rises

    - Horrendous communication
    - Lies

    Advice to Management

Need a lot more training. Need to work on communication with other staff members. Don't make promises you cant keep (e.g. promising pay rises then never giving them).

Just all about meeting targets, don't care how you manage to do it
Always trying to save money on recruitments hence there is always staff shortage and huge workloads.

I worked at Day Lewis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

An ice cream in the summer. A store present of meal money or sweets when a family member has a baby or gets married etc will probably also always do well financially/profit wise.

    Cons

Must be a prescription checking machine but
main goal as is to reach your financial driven targets, on very minimal staff and the opposite of support. There are so many managers but only there to ensure store ia reaching targets and that is all.Fantastic customer service expected ofcourse although staff have no support, in fact the opposite. You will get daily calls and emails because every pound, sorry I mean every patient counts. Dont forget to switch off the A/C to save money and be prepared to sacrifice unpaid lunches and evenings for conferences etc that keep rehashing the same in different words. Surprise management visits and don't expet managment to help in times of conflict. Culture of fear. They play nice but as soon as there is an issue it becomes clear who they like to blame. No official HR department to deal with issues. The pharmacist is always to blame .

    Advice to Management

Fake nice is very different to genuine nice. Actually care about your staff that are doing the hard work. Actions speak much much louder than words .
