RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI have been working at Defense Finance and Accounting Service full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
The pay is competitive for cities like Columbus, Cleveland and Indianapolis, where they have their major offices. 13 vacation days, 20 days after 3 years, and federal holidays. Accountant start at 40 K, 60 k in 2 years, most people can work credit time and store 24 hours vacation too. Free time to work on your hobbies telework 3 days a week. Difficult to get fired. Federal government will assist you with federal loan replayment. 10 K per year, 60 K max Great for veterans.
Cons
The work can be soul crushing at times. Stupid taskings not usually overly difficult. Military style management my way or the highway. 50 % of the work force is on or should be on anti- depressants or anti anxiety meds. No performance bonuses. Expect to be wrong all the time
