RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Dennis Publishing full-time for less than a year
Pros
Great location, lovely offices, get to work with really talented people who inspire you, but are also fun to work with too! Great meeting rooms set up with the latest technology which is a real plus. Agile working and the flexibility is a bonus. There's a great social side, lots going on every day. We even had a "bring your dog to work" day which really got everyone chatting! All in all its a great place to work.
Cons
The pace is fast and management have high expectations. However if you're prepared to give your all, your hard work will be recognised.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI have been working at Dennis Publishing full-time for more than a year
Pros
- Great location - Market leading publisher - Free tea and coffee - Do a lot for charity - Really nice offices - Can work from anywhere within the building
Cons
- People don't talk to each other - Certain teams are very "clicky" - Induction isn't great, very quick and then you're expected to get on with it - Limited social events unless you count planting trees as one - Below market salaries - A lot of pressure is put on your shoulders as they fail to attract good people in to the business, rather it takes a very long time for them to do so - You have to be careful what you say and who to, lots of people gossip - Internal affairs, quite literally - The HR team spend more time giving out warnings / sacking people than anything else - Have a "don't worry, let's do it tomorrow" mentality in certain departments

Continue readingThanks for taking the time to provide us with this really positive feedback. I’m delighted that you found Dennis to be such a fun and positive company to work at. Part of what I believe makes Dennis unique is our dedication to putting our people first. And despite being a growing and successful media company, we like to have fun whilst we’re at it. I’m proud of our culture and I’m thrilled you appreciated it. I’m also pleased you liked our office location. Since your review, we have actually moved our company HQ but rest assured it is still in London W1, literally 5 minutes walk away from our old location in Cleveland St. Our brand new Alfred Place HQ looks fantastic and everyone has been universally positive about the environment we have created, from the the central “Den” area, to the workstations, the wi-fi and even the coffee! Thank you for raising the issue of pay. We do endeavour to pay as competitively as possible in all our disciplines as we see this as essential in attracting and retaining the best talent at Dennis. This is continually under review so thanks for bringing it to our attention. Although we want Dennis to be a fun and friendly place to work, we also agree that we do need to behave professionally as well. One of our core set of values is to be FUN and PROFESSIONAL at the same time. With this in mind, we have worked hard to increase our professionalism by overhauling our website, branding and work environment in the last 3 months. We hope this will make Dennis feel relaxed but present itself more professionally to our customers and clients. I’m glad you picked up on active training and I also share your desire for this to change. We have recently deployed a 3 year plan to develop our teams in both leadership and general skills. This long-term plan is a serious commitment for us as a company, and will attract the same level of attention and funding as a new business launch. Thanks again for your feedback. As always, I will share this with our management team so they can see your comments. James Tye - Chief Executive
