To address your comment on pay, we do assess pay each year, specifically refreshing our pay brackets so that they are competitive with government contractors in the regions we support. Other sectors, may pay more, that is true. As far as complacency. Let's get you engaged more. It sounds like you appreciate the culture. I certainly appreciate that you do not have time during the day for training, however, if you need it to perform your tasks or you are being asked to learn something for a project that should be time that is supported by the company. If that is the case, you can work with your manager and HR. For training you are choosing to take, you definitely will need to seek that out.
