I have been working at Dignity Memorial part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Extremely flexible schedule. Great extra source of income. Laid back atmosphere

    Cons

No opportunities to grow in company Sexist Managers Company cares more about sales than quality

    Advice to Management

Focus on your clients. Why does a family who is suffering need to pay $14,000 for a funeral when PCC can’t even make the decedent look decent? Unfair and Corrupt. Show your employees you value them.

I worked at Dignity Memorial full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Coworkers, Benefits, Paid training, Fulfilling

    Cons

Poor management, Commission, Crazy sales goals

    Advice to Management

This job seriously needs to be salary plus commission. There were to many ways to basically make nothing after working 50 hours a week. While I liked some coworkers, management was extremely rude/bullying and nothing was done about it even if you called HR.

I worked at Dignity Memorial part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Very nice staff, clean and beautiful building, helping others during a very difficult time of their life.

    Cons

Pay is very low, weekend hours, a lot of standing around, very slow down times that make time go by too slow. Some gossiping. Poor communication. I was "fired" but not told. In other words instead of letting me go the manager simply left me off the schedule. Its like a steady partner that breaks up with you but forgets to tell you. The manager is extremely type A and anal retentive. If you are used to a strict... buttoned up and military style discipline you will do well here.

    Advice to Management

Be more communicative instead of avoiding confrontation.

I worked at Dignity Memorial part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Paid training. Great people to work with. You can work on your own, with a co-worker, or as a team. Good support of managers. Wonderful for people who love to help others. Good compensation.

    Cons

Even though you are an "employee" and receive a W-2, you are compensated with commission only. You need to have a Life and Health Insurance License. You need to come for meetings which are not paid.

    Advice to Management

You can always improve. Recognize the people who are struggling. Sometimes people don't always know what (or how to ask for what) they don't know.
