I have been working at Dunnes Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tasks are simple and pays ok.

    Cons

Terrible management. None of them is specialized in a section and tasks staffs have to do. They tell us off for not getting things done without knowing how long it takes and what other tasks they have to do. Changing hours all the time and makes us tired. I don’t like how they decide my time and expect to be available whenever they want. Putting a staff in late night extended shift when she lives far and doesn’t have a car, there’s no transport available to go home and not even offering to pay for taxi or cut down just by half hour so she can take bus home. She has to spend 3 hours pay for taxi. Other hand they accept staffs who have worked for years take days off whenever they want giving more stable hours. I got blamed for something the old worker did before I took over the job. That was even the manager misleading us but not admitting it’s his fault. They favour old workers too much and crap on newer ones which is not fair at all

    Advice to Management

They need to reconstruct the management team. They don’t know the job

    Pros

Long breaks, but that's about it.

    Cons

Very poor management. New staff training wasn't good, managers were belittling, and after a 9 hour shift they would still ask you to stay late (unpaid).
