    Where do I start? Every year, I have had to pack up my classroom for various reasons. Some years I have had to move schools due to budget cuts and work at two schools - setting up two classrooms and prepping for 6 grade levels at each school, essentially doing double the work for the same paycheck.     Advice to Management

    Talk to your teachers for input before you make such drastic changes. What looks all well planned out and neat and cozy on paper may not play out well in the real world. Also, a little respect and dignity would be nice, not pulling the rug out from under us without any warning. Answer emails! Some of us itinerants are not able to catch you to ask a question or get clarification in person because we are not there every...

    Having breaks off with students , professional development workshops

    Cons

    Underpaid , administration, district dog pony show, change teacher grades without our permission , pass students no matter what , not supportive administration .

    Advice to Management

    Redevelop a curriculum that aligns with the demographic , culture , and prepare for the actual future. Equipped educators with accurate class size , funds , better condition classroom , and hire leaders and staff that wants to support and bring change . Implement programs and events that are impactful not a waste of tax money

    Working with the children is great

    teachers do not show paras respect the pay is not enough o live on I have a 4 year degree and I only make 9.28 an hour. If I work here for 12 years I can make 14.00hr...YAY. really that is so sad.

    Advice to Management

    Paraprofessionals need more pay. Hire other staff to do cafeteria duty. Respect us as adults.

    Pros

    I really enjoyed working with my language and speech impaired students. It's such a joy to be an asset to the lives in which you are helping each and every day.

    Cons

    Case loads are out of this world and The pay is equivalent to a teachers pay. It's hard to get in contact with District at times so just get ready to "wing-it".

    Depending on administration, schools will work to do what is best for students. Different interventions and plans are put in place to address student behaviors.

    Administration frequently changes at different schools making it difficult to find a school that really works for you.
