I worked at EF English First full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Paid on time. Jeff. Fantastic trainer and a genuinely great and supportive guy. It's a shame the company isn't built on his values.

    Cons

Low salary. Terrible holiday policy. 3 month notice period if you want to leave. Threatened multiple times that they wouldn't give the documents they are legally obligated to provide if I didn't do exactly as they want. Uncooperative and rude toward the company I joined after. Overworked. Terrible working environment. An overcrowded office with no windows, classrooms with no windows. People are constantly sick all...

    Advice to Management

Teaching is about kids not how much money you can extract from the parents. Don't expand so aggressively if your only choice is to constantly push for parents for more money. Doesn't really seem like a priority though, the business model...

    Pros

    NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING

    Cons

I have nothing positive to say about EFAP. I can write a whole novel on how immoral and unethical they are. They do not understand education and are utterly incompetent with academic material and leadership they are a disgrace. Universities and Students deserve much better than this horse and monkey show that they have.

    Advice to Management

EFAP LEADERSHIP CHINA - YOU ARE A DISGRACE UTTERLY INCOMPETENT. YOU ALL SHOULD BE FIRED

I worked at EF English First full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Met good company to suffer through the dumpster fire with.

    Cons

Our center painted the walls and laid new carpet in a building with no openable windows. Eventually, the staff starts getting sick. After one employee went to the doctor we find out its acute benzene poisoning. We had to fight to get the center shut down even after this. And a reminder, there are children going in and out of this literally toxic place. Our Canadian boss lied and dodged responsibility till he finally...

I have been working at EF English First full-time for more than a year

EF English First is an awesome company to work for in China. They gave me a lot of support in my initial visa and visa renewal, making it very straightforward and ensuring that I knew well in advance of any deadlines or things to sort out. Pros

Flexible schedule, work-from-home, exposure to unique people from around the world

    Cons

You have to work two months before pay because they only pay monthly and you have to wait until the following month for your first paycheck. It started off nice and I felt like I was doing well when all of a sudden, they stopped adding classes to my schedule and my friend's despite us having high-scores as teachers even though classes were available, they just decided to phase us out.
