I have been working at EMBL full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

No global direction, so you can do whatever you want to do. If you find the right people you can learn a lot.

    Cons

Internal processes are nowhere to be found.

    Advice to Management

Measure how long basic activities take, so when we ask for a web account we know if it will take minutes, days or weeks.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at EMBL full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible working
    Good work life balance

    Cons

You must leave after 9 years

It is not a place to begin, The real software market is more cruel than EBI so it causes you do not improve and do not learn essential skills and leads to have difficulty to find a job after 9 years. But it is very stable and good place for a mature developer to relax a bit.

    Advice to Management

You can speed up the process with better usage of skills of your teams.

    Advice to Management

Please check on the Project Coordinators. They really are making developers and devops life with lack of clarity in their vision for the projects
