    - This institute is one of the best places I have ever worked in. - People are extremely nice. - Salary is very good. - Scientific help (core facilities, media kitchens etc.) are very useful. - Health insurance is superb.

    - Limited contracts (very limited chance to get a permanent one). - Not clear rules about permanent positions.

    Excellent technical support and access to facilities (imaging, EM, protein expression and purification, proteomics, genomics, FC...). Access to year-round conferences taking place at EMBL Collaborative spirit amongst labs Very good working conditions (health insurance, benefits...)

    - scientific excellence - relatively flat hierarchies - good salary - good working atmosphere - open door policy - young staff - high turnover rate - lots of possibilities for extracurricular/social activities (extra seminars/sports/music/theater/...) - great health insurance

    Cons

    - less social security (pension/ unemployment insurance) than in many other employment situations - no opportunity to stay for longer than a fixed period (depending on type of position)
