Pros

Sample sale discount was okay.

Cons

Although the team within the head office is relatively small, there is no real effort to properly introduce new starters, making it difficult to form relationships amongst your peers. There is also a severe lack of effective communication across departments, which results in frequent unpleasant interactions and a constant blame culture. A few departments are missing people with real leadership experience and those who currently in these positions are clearly only there by default, having managed to survive the longest in this toxic working environment. In regards to the pay, it is far below the average across most roles, especially when you consider how much each person is expected to contribute to the company.

Pros

Nice building to work in and good sample sale deals

Cons

I was so excited and really looking forward to joining the company so I feel gutted writing this, because it was the opposite of exciting. Very soon after starting, I realised that it was your ‘typical’ fashion company with everyone severely overworked and underpaid. The management team are highly unprofessional by badmouthing colleagues as well as other management, there is a big hierarchy issue, and the turnover is one of the worst I have experienced in such a small team The high turnover results in unmanageable workloads so people become stressed and speak to others with no respect. Emotions are constantly running high, and all people seem to talk about is leaving and how unhappy they are There is minimal care for your mental health, social life and personal happiness Progression is promised, which I’m sure in 1 or 2 departments it may be possible, but overall there isn’t much. There is clear and open favouritism which may have affected this No attempt to mix departments making it hard to meet anyone new

We have put a lot of HR specific actions in to place over the last 6 months and I am pleased to say that our staff turnover for the last quarter has been at 3% (much lower than the industry average of 18%). Workloads have increased however we we have recruited 7 new roles over the last 4 months to provide our busiest departments with valued support. We have recruited an HR Executive. Along with implementing an employee committee to enable our employees to share ideas and to provide suggestions. As a result, we have implemented a monthly social evening, our charity day which is a fantastic opportunity for employees to meet cross functionally . We had a fantastic post-show party recently with a turnout of 90 people. We have also invested in training. Mental Health First Aiders will be trained within the business. Our aim is to create an environment where people feel empowered, supported and they can enjoy. I am so sorry you feel this was not the case for you. However we have made numerous steps forward with our people agenda over the last 6 months and have much more planned in the pipeline
