I have been working at EY full-time

    Pros

    Fantastic brand
    Great opportunities
    Wonderful office (Southampton)
    Strong leadership

    Cons

Nothing specific. Stress was high but then that comes with the role
Probably should make more of the fantastic opportunities available - helping staff with the next phase of their career whether it is elsewhere at EY or with a client has got to be better than losing them out of the network completely.

    Advice to Management

Recognise the vast bulk of staff are juniors (both in experience and age) and do more to really cultivate culture amongst this group and provide more robust pastoral support.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible working, working from home and ACA certification available. There is a number of networks to join from day one.

    Cons

Low pay with not a lot of prospects of increase. Rank progression is standardised with not a lot of opportunities to be fast tracked. Not a lot of opportunities for internal transfer.

    Advice to Management

Have a more competitive rating system tied with benefits in order to maintain talent.

    Pros

General friendly feeling to the whole place, probably stemming from everyone trying to make the best of a pretty bad situation

    Cons

Audit. Your day to day role is essentially to irritate the accounts team in whichever company you're auditing. The work is monotonous and, to an extent, pointless

    Advice to Management

Management as a whole were okay, the main problem is that audit is soul destroying. Something that might make the experience slightly more bearable would be if management were more present; rarely was it the case that a manager was ever on site and so, in one particular instance, it led to a pretty poor quality audit which I then got in trouble for but I don't really feel like it was my fault.

I worked at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The interview process is fair. The salary is great. Apart from that, I would struggle to identify another positive aspect of working for this company.

    Cons

Travel expectations are crazy, this impacts the working environment as on average 50% of the audit staff assigned to a particular client are from a far afield EY office due to the atrocious resourcing situation. The work itself is dull and monotonous.

    Advice to Management

    Change everything

Good people to work with, relaxed culture, team members always willing to help out

    Cons

Need to give greater rewards to employees to retain talented staff.
