I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High importance placed on team quality and hugely varied experiences and opportunities. You can style your own career and generally promotions are quite fast paced.

    Cons

There are long hours as standard (particularly within the Investment Banking Sector) and there is constant change. You have to be ok with not always knowing where you will be working the following week.

    Advice to Management

Keep staff informed of change and find a way to make staff more aware of all the project opportunities and possibilities that are out there for a more self sustaining resourcing model.

I worked at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience working with different clients and at senior levels . Good client base

    Cons

Poor staff management, overly focused on their grads at the detriment of other staff . A few people control dynamics of the team often leading to overly glorified few. Lack of engagement with staff and too aggressive on networking

    Advice to Management

Don't contradict yourselves . Make your mind up whether you want people to do internal work or focus on clients. Don't mislead staff and don't judge people simply because they haven't quiet met your networking requirement

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great culture, great colleagues (for the most part), a fair approach to work life a balance and a genuine interest in people from all levels.

    Cons

As with all Big 4, your promotion is largely dependent on time served at each grade so it can be a bit boring between years. Pay is a bit below market but we get a lot more flexibility in exchange.

    Advice to Management

Try to build a genuine meritocracy - good people are leaving even though they love the firm

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Strong support network (people/resources)
    - Flexible work/life balance

    Cons

    - Opaque performance review process
    - Project resourcing based upon who you know, and being in right place and right time
    - Little say on what projects one takes on (was repeatedly assigned roles not suited to me)
    - Poor benefits (healthcare scheme not inclusive compared to competitors, no bonus for all staff for previous 2 years)
    - High staff turnover

    Advice to Management

Encourage partners to do more to retain staff

    Pros

Good working environment and friendly colleagues. Overall social environment and people are supportive of your career direction. You need to be a social person to get along.

    Cons

There isn't much control over which piece of work you are assigned to at times. Understandable due to business needs though.
