I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible working from home or other offices at all levels whenever you want
    - Good quality and variety of work
    - Opportunities to travel and go on secondment
    - Flat management structure, all levels of the team sit together in an open plan office

    Cons

    - Lowest study leave allowances across the big 4 for those taking professional qualifications
    - Only 1 real window to get promoted per year at year end (effective 1 October)

    Advice to Management

Implement a mid year promotion case for all service lines to help retain staff; and
increase study leave allowances for those taking professional qualifications to be more in line with other Big 4 firms

I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible, international, offering very diverse experiences, open to people from various backgrounds, working with major clients in a very nice and energetic atmosphere.

    Cons

As it is a big organisation, it has quite strong processes, which may make things run a bit slowly. Additionally, in the UK, the profitability objectives put a lot of pressure on salaries and promotions.

    Advice to Management

Giving more flexibility to partners with regard to people recognition would likely give them the possibility to be fairer in their people decisions with regard to high performers.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High importance placed on team quality and hugely varied experiences and opportunities. You can style your own career and generally promotions are quite fast paced.

    Cons

There are long hours as standard (particularly within the Investment Banking Sector) and there is constant change. You have to be ok with not always knowing where you will be working the following week.

    Advice to Management

Keep staff informed of change and find a way to make staff more aware of all the project opportunities and possibilities that are out there for a more self sustaining resourcing model.
