I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible working, good salary and benefits

    Cons

Political, back-stabbing is rife, people are prepared to clamber over one another to get to the top, awful culture, everyone is out for themselves, ram "inclusivity" down your throat, very process and cost driven, feedback cycles only include people senior to you which just feeds the toxic culture at this company.

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good varied experience; opportunity for development; better than average benefits and holiday

    Cons

Long hours and work/life balance can be bad; bonuses are poor; salaries are below average as compared to other Big 4

    Advice to Management

People Survey Results do reflect state of business and should be assessed/actioned; pay competitively and reward strong performers- it's more expensive to recruit new talent vs. retain good current talent

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Focused on innovation. And technology, there is an open admission that pressure on Audit means the Partnership must adapt rapidly to the World we live in, and not stay chained to the ideas of the world of the ‘Mad Men’.
It could be so much more.

    Cons

Paralysed by internal divisions and archaic, unresponsive internal controls . With a focus on technology and innovation, the organisation is at war with itself on so many levels, little actual innovation is achievable. It will stumble along until the new economy hollows it out.

    Advice to Management

Revise and automate the bureaucracy. It has killed innovation on many of the initiatives I have seen in the firm with old world thinking and glacial response time.

I worked at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Global opportunities are good if you’re in the right area of the business, mobility programmes, good name for the CV, great reputation, remuneration, career counselling.

    Cons

Pretentious, fake, two faced employees, treat people like commodities, endless red tape and an overly complicated hierarchical structure. Everyone is out for themselves and won’t spare your blood if it means their progression- no real human nature or realism. Most Manager and above will view anyone lower than them in a very patronising way (and I was a Senior Manager), you’re not expected to mingle with the “lower kind”. Disgusting.

    Advice to Management

Remove the view of senior management not being able to integrate with juniors and be yourself at work!!
