I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can manage your own book of business and semi fun work atmosphere

    Cons

Many to list. Managers don't seem to have any actually leadership skills. They are so focused on numbers that employees happiness and comfort at work is second nature. Many tend to overlook the massive egos in this company that Contribute to the massive turnover rate. You need thick skin and expect your manager to give little to no guidance. They hype up sales to be what you make of it and that you control your book of business till they feel you aren't making them enough money. Top reps are left alone and treated like untouchable, increasing their egos. Mid to new reps are left by the wayside for the scraps. Little to no loyalty from client and or the client team.

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great office culture, good money to be made if you can hit commission, you will meet great people over the phones, great hours

    Cons

Echo expects 100 calls to be made daily, multiple problems can arise at once and be stressful, lots of dishonesty in the industry, not a lot of room for growth

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Competitive base salary -Great training program for new reps, especially useful if you’re new to the industry -Split sales responsibility allows you to focus solely on your half instead of being overwhelmed selling to customers and carriers simultaneously

    Cons

-Company is VERY clique-y, and if you don’t make it into the right circles then promotions and valuable customers are much harder to come by -An above average rep will take 9-12 months to break draw, and that’s only if you’re a quick learner and play the game, so get used to your salary for at least a year. -Industry is becoming increasingly automated and there is a blatant attempt here to make carrier sales obsolete through new technology, so you’d be joining a position that is already on it’s way out.

I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Company Culture Potential to make a lot of $ Colleagues Valuable experience Most of the managers are honestly super cool and laid back, and they definitely do want you to succeed. I worked in the company for 5 years, originally from Command after the acquisition, and I can honestly say I’ve gained a ton of valuable experience. Working in the industry, you see and deal with it all. They say if you can survive in freight you can do anything.

    Cons

Hours Benefits Pay structure Burnout Stress You need to know what you’re getting into when you get in the freight industry, at least on the carrier sales side. You will sit down at 7am and the calls with problems from the night before will start rolling in. The grind of 7am-5pm sitting in your desk while getting up only here and there throughout the day takes a huge toll mentally and physically. Company and industry are way oversaturated which makes building a long-term career very challenging, almost a pipe dream. It’s why all brokerages are almost entirely made up of young people (mid 20’s/out of college) who end up leaving after a year or 2 anyway. Overall it’s a good job to make a little money out of college, but ultimately it’s a churn and burn industry that you’ll be glad to leave if/when you finally do.

I worked at Echo Global Logistics full-time

    Pros

Surrounded by lots of driven people

    Cons

Unless you were there from the start or wait long enough to replace someone with established lanes/accounts, you are working way too many hours for too few dollars. Your onboarding class will quickly disappear within the 1st year.

I have been working at Echo Global Logistics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good company to start out of college just to get some experience People are great Office and activities sponsored by echo are really fun

    Cons

This is a churn and burn job for the first couple years unless you can get some legitimate business set up which is going to be hard becasue virtually every lane is already spoken for or the senior reps get first crack or are given a carrier that already wants to run it that no one has in their name. They expect you to "break through" but in the market climate there is really no shot at hitting commission goals. The company itself needs to be more fair instead of just feeding the guys that already make a bunch of money. Unless you're a huge rep they will not hear your complaints and will play dumb when you bring it up. The industry itself is too saturated and Echo has become to big for their newer employees to grow
