      Great culture, smart people

      Pros

Work with the smartest people in the industry. Work for an independent organisation that gets stuff done and doesnt answer to a holding company. You can forge your own career path.

      Cons

Hardworking spills into long hours on occasion. But no different to other companies and senior staff are good at looking after teams.

      Pros

A bunch of really lovely and talented people who work really hard.

      Cons

The team I worked in had a culture of woking long hours - too long. Systems and processes need a lot of improvement.

Great springboard but lacking in purpose

      Pros

      - The people - everyone is nice, very intelligent and supportive - Good holiday and benefits - Interesting and challenging work - Lots of opportunities to gain experience and develop - They have been a supportive employer throughout the pandemic - Nice office

      Cons

      - Long hours is expected - The pay does not reflect the work - A lot of talking about addressing problems, nowhere near enough action in actually addressing any of these - Progression can feel stagnant - Client priority will be put ahead of employee wellbeing - there is a precedence of bending over backwards for a client, regardless how it would impact your work/life balance - Not as transparent as senior management thinks they are being to staff

Great People & Not So Great People

      Business Outlook

      Pros

People - nice individuals here and there, a couple of great teams (Tech especially), and some great leaders in European Markets -(SA, IRE, BEL, SP, UAE) Nice Office (London)

      Cons

People - a bunch of arrogant and self-serving individuals who think they are god's gift to the PR world (mostly in UK/France). Very cliquey. Senior Leadership - living in their own little planet/bubble (and not doing much) Junior staff working long hours (and not getting the credit they deserve) HR's default is to fire rather than look at root causes and improve culture

      Toxic, nepotistic culture

      Pros

The pros include working at a word famous company- from the outside it's seen as very reputable and excellent. So it's nice to have it on the CV. High profile clients are also a pro. Diversity efforts are commendable, there are many people from different backgrounds and cultures which is fantastic.

      Cons

Unfortunately the team culture is highly toxic for Edelman Intelligence, many members of staff agree, and the turnover is high as a result. Senior staff are very nepotistic - many of them are friends and have promoted each other over the years based on this. There is no meritocracy unfortunately. Instead, staff who are proactive and skilled are manipulated and gas lit until they lose the passion they started at the company with. There is little care given to career progression and zero guidance on a meritocratic approach to growing in the company. Wish industry friends told me about this poor reputation. Since leaving I've heard people refer to Edelman as a "sweat shop"... reflecting on the long hours and less than market rate salaries.
