I have been working at Edward Jones full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Edward Jones has a good environment and hires employees that uphold their values.

    Cons

If you work in the service division you don't have many freedoms, no work life balance, and compensation is only ok.

I worked at Edward Jones full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great health, vision and dental insurance Excellent IRA/401K match Company performance-based bonuses issued quarterly - From $500 to $1200 Jeans days - Some free. On days that you pay for them, the money goes to charity PTO Clean and organized cafeteria areas Training - Upon hire The luxury of having a Fortune 500 company on your resume Nice buildings Covered parking with lots of parking space Accessible from highways The ability to work from home with some positions

    Cons

*You're expected to develop yourself - Minimal assistance from leadership *Principals are rarely seen on site *Business professional dress code, however many people are skating by with business casual, even as leaders *Cubicle farms! You can hear people next to you chewing, opening lunches.....If you have misophonia really bad, don't work here unless you work from home. *Not enough meeting rooms *False sense of hope instilled upon hire - You'll believe you're apart of a family, that you can advance through the firm, and that everyone has your back - until someone sits on you for attempting to advance in the company *You'll rarely see people of color in leadership positions *HR is out of sight, out of mind - There isn't a constant presence of HR. *Most of the positions offered are on the phone. *You'll be trained to know more than your leader knows. Don't expect any assistance from leadership. *Lots of nepotism and favoritism - Mentoring is only offered by leadership if they like you. *You're encouraged to walk, network with your peers, attend town hall meetings and to enroll yourself into courses for training. Bu, if you work in Service or in a position where you're constantly on the phone; you only have two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. If you use ACW "too often," they are constantly talking about numbers. Its annoying. With that short amount of time, how are you expected to: Get into shape, attend Business Resource Groups and network when leadership is constantly breathing down your neck about numbers in a department? *Leadership constantly changes "the rules" to call reviews and how your performance will be based. This has only recently happened to me. I don't like instability, so I quit.

I worked at Edward Jones full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Name. Flexible work environment. Cafeteria

    Cons

Teach virtually with little to no support. They say you have time to learn but if you ask for help you are given a warning and they don't listen to how they can help. The trainers are a piece if work and unknowledgeable of how to train except one way..their way.

I have been working at Edward Jones full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The fellow associates are definitely a positive. The company does a great job fitting associates to a positive corporate culture.

    Cons

The Service division is described as a contact center, but it is absolutely a call center in every way. You are judged by your ability to adhere to a computer generated schedule. Your breaks, lunch, and even email reading time is determined by data points that you have no control over. Your development professionally will be stunted. If you have any plans to grow into a job with the corporate or financial industry do not take a job with the Service division.

I have been working at Edward Jones

    Pros

I started in October 2015 as a contractor for tax season, that assignment lead to another contract and I was recently offered a full time position. Once I expressed interest in full time positions, the full timer and leaders in my group where supportive and helpful. You are expected to work and deliver results but it is truly a great environment. Their reputation as one of the countries best employers in America is well earned. Benefits include a chance at a bonus every 4 months, wellness programs, profit sharing, limited 401K match and a chance to become a limited partner. Since Edward Jones has as no share holders they take a long term view. Many of the firms current employees and managers started in entry level positions or as contractors.

    Cons

A very good benefits package make the salary /hourly pay competitive but not great. You have one option for health insurance and its a health savings account.
