Pros
Pay is decent. I haven't been there long enough for the benefits to kick in yet, but I have heard they are good. It is very busy so the day goes by pretty quickly. The store manager is a great boss and truly cares about his employees.
Cons
The DM is constantly pulling the store manager to work at other locations, so the shift managers are always running things and the majority of them are not exactly pleasant. Gossipy, backstabbing girls working there (am I back in high school??) The training is a joke. After five minutes of watching someone ring, they threw me on register and expected me to ring 40 items a minute. Serious lack of communication. I'm new and still learning things, everyone tells me something different or I don't get told at all. If they had told me mind reading was part of the job, I wouldn't have accepted. I try to figure it out myself and do the best I can then get told I'm doing it wrong. They don't wait to tell me what I'm doing wrong in privacy, they tell me in front of customers as I'm ringing. I'm petite and it is very difficult for me to hoist things over my head in order to get them onto the shelves. Then I get told I'm not putting out the product fast enough. The busiest location in the district and the store is seriously understaffed. I'm afraid to ask questions since the majority of the shift managers are miserable.
