Pros
Intelligent people who have a desire to do the right thing. Those people who have stayed with the company through the bad times have developed a sense of community that is hard to beat. The technical track at AMD is outstanding, and recently they started developing these individuals at the top level in order to have more effective technical people without trying to turn them into managers.
Cons
AMD's management has a lack of direction and leadership. To top that off, they don't know how to communicate what they are doing. The monetary benefits have dramatically dropped off in the last few years to the point that while you might get a salary increase (which is fairly small) that you have probably had a realized reduction in take home money from the loss of other benefits.
