Pros

This role resembles consulting (think MBB), both in the nature of the work and the caliber of the team—many of whom are ex-strategy consultants or investment bankers. The organization is flat and open-minded, with a strong emphasis on ownership, contribution, and collaboration. I genuinely feel heard and empowered in strategic discussions, and the team always has each other’s back. The day-to-day involves project-based work similar to consulting: Excel modeling, PowerPoint presentations, data analysis (e.g. SQL, Tableau), and strategic problem-solving. There’s a strong feedback culture built on direct yet respectful communication, which has helped me grow professionally. From a lifestyle perspective, the relocation package is one of the best I’ve come across. While the salary may be a step down from European MBB firms and vacation days are fewer, the overall work-life balance has been great. Bangkok offers a vibrant lifestyle—with living costs that can be high or low depending on your choices—so it’s worth doing your research ahead of time. Personally, I’ve enjoyed the mix of meaningful work and the opportunity to travel in the region.

Cons

Fewer vacation days compared to European standards, Salary may be less competitive than consulting or banking in Europe, Living costs in Bangkok vary—can be surprisingly high depending on lifestyle
