I worked at Allied Healthcare full-time

    Pros

If you wanted overtime you can get it no problem.
    Free uniforms.

    Cons

If you didn’t do an extra shift it was held against you.
My holidays were rejected right away - when they were requested first day back after Christmas and new year holidays.
    Terrible mileage pay
Not paid per visit, paid per minute - if a client decides they don’t need you, through no fault of your own, you do not get paid.
Not much opportunity, seems to be the people who are the ‘favourites’ get training for qualifications etc.

    Advice to Management

Don’t be so nasty to carers - if it wasn’t for us, you would not have a job.

I have been working at Allied Healthcare (More than a year)

    Pros

Clients were great on most part

    Cons

They advertise with 8 GBP per hour. However, you're usually at a client's place for max 30 minutes and spend half the shift driving from one house to another and get paid just a couple of pennies 'mileage' for that.

Very unorganised - called me everyday on my days off at 7am to ask if I can cover someone's shift. You feel bad saying no because elderly or disabled individuals rely on your help.

    Advice to Management

Hire more reliable staff who actually show up for their shifts and offer better pay for a tough job.
