I have been working at American Express full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Work/Life balance is good, most people have good intentions and are trying their best to operate at the top of their game, all without exception are encouraged to do the right and best thing for the customer

    Cons

Slow to decision making, often there is lack of clarity on processes to do things compliantly, leading to extended time-frames. Sometimes creativity and innovation is stifled by decision by committee.

    Advice to Management

Try and build structures and processes which are lean as possible, whilst managing risk. Make sure the processes are clear and easy to follow, and where possible standardized across departments.
